Hey fender fans,
When was the last time a song or album inspired you? After I saw It Might Get Loud, Jack White talked about his favorite song by Son House

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QA8-ZOuKetU

No guitar playing or instruments, but when I first listened to it, I was really moved by it.

I also just purchased John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton (Deluxe Edition!) and Eric's playing is phenomenal on that album.

So what inspired you?

I don't know if you can say this song inspired me but the first time I heard Submarine Dream by Apples in Stereo I went out and bought the CD and put it on my CD player and played it repeatedly for 2 hrs.One day while in a herb induced pensive mood I put on the headphones and blasted Jimi's Voodoo Child(Slight Return)for 4 hrs, that was really inspiring and that song still is to this day my favourite song.

Joe Bonamassa's Ballad Of John Henry was the last song (hell the whole CD is great) that really inspired me. I like those raw hard rocking songs but the production of the song (and CD) really made me realize how far you can take it. I read somewhere that when they recorded the CD the producer would record Joe just messing around and then threw it all together to creat some amazing sounding songs.

John Mayall/bluesbreakers and the yardbirds help put some great guitar players on the map, clapton, beck, page, mick taylor, peter green, etc.,.

I can fill a book with inspiration so what ever caught me most recent which would be Jeff Beck Live at Ronnie Scotts. I watched it like five times and was just floored.

The biggest inspiration was back in the 70's music was playing in the back ground and passing around some Hawaiian Pakalolo and I was thinking  Never mind !

If I were to pick an old song, this one my older sister sang to me when I was very young I loved it when she sang, the Son House song you chose has a rough edge so not very entertaining.
Kemo Kimo

In South Carolina the darkies go,
Sing song, Kitty, can't you ki' me, oh!
That's where the white folks plant the tow.
Sing song, Kitty, can't you ki' me, oh!
Cover the ground all over with smoke,
Sing song Kitty, can't you ki' me, oh!
And up the darkies' heads they poke.
Sing song, Kitty, can't you ki' me, oh!

Chorus:
Kemo, kimo! There! oh where?--
With my hi, my ho, and in come Sally, singing
Sometimes penny winkle, lingtum, nipcat,
Sing song, Kitty, can't you ki' me, oh!
:)
