Could someone please tell me why I have to pay nearly 35% more for Fender products here in France?If I try to buy online in the States( from a Fender dealer) including the shipping I still save 10 - 15%...but I'm not allowed to!What happened to the free market?

Je ne sais pas...All I know is that Fender most likely has different distribution deals worked out with internationally with various international distributors, and one aspect of these deals is that a distributor for one geographical area, like the US, legally cannot sell to anyone in located in an area that us covered by another distributor, like France. Fender Japan, legally cannot sell guitars in the US...As far as why there is a price difference, I am not sure if its a Fender issue, or perhaps the distributor is adding a bit more to their price?

I am not sure, because I don't work for Fender, but I know that some countries often place taxes and tariffs on items imported from other countries, which often times may not be reflected in a shipping quote, especially of you are trying to get a shipping quote to a country that a vendor may not ship to in the first place. So are you sure there is not some sort of import tax or tariff on non-domestically produced items?
