Irish,
If it makes you feel any better I am GASing for a HWY 1 Strat, 3 color sunburst maple fret board...what is really crazy, my wife said to me...well when are you going to order it??? She is like that she will let me get whatever I want. It makes GAS so much easier because knowing I can get what I want when I want...makes it less pressing...good luck on your quest..:)

Bros, Gary, Roller lead guitarist just traded his active strat for one. He makes those guitars sound better when he plays them. 8)

Go for it, miss my early 70's burst, to heavy for my old back. great guitars though. I've always been a fender guy, but nice to have at least one gib in the collection.

Irish, maybe a vintage one would be good. I was just in the Gibson room at the Tempe, AZ Guitar Center. I was amazed at how badly finished the LPs were. And at how much variation there is from guitar to guitar. A little quality control would be nice.

Haven't decided on the model yet but I'll take a look at many different models but I may have to wait another week to get enough money(food city doesn't pay much)

Food City?? In Tennessee too? I guess the illegal aliens are everywhere.

Dont leave any valuables in your car, Mike.

Try to find a Standard faded...very well priced, nice bursts, and Burstbucker Pro pickups...not too heavy because it's chambered, but still has that LP sustain and tone.
