Saw an advertisement for a redesigned G-DEC3 on the back cover of guitar world magazine (Which is a special Feb 2010 issue). And inside I think there is a new American Special or something... let me look real fast. Yeah, I'm right. The ad is on page 25.

A while back it was strongly rumored the Hwy 1 is on the way out. My guess is that this new "American Special" model will replace the Hwy 1. Comparing it to the Hwy 1, it seems that the more premium nitro finish is being lessened for a cheaper poly finish (which I actually prefer), with the pickups being upgraded to CS Tex Specials. I like this model.

Its not like the car industry where every year Fender releases something brand new...so don't be surprised if there's nothing amazing released other than new finishes or a slight variation of something thats already out...

That's true... I figured so. Every since I've really been into basses fender has had something new every year, it just saddened me.
