We had a long, hot, humid autumn. Unseasonably warm for November and December. Now it's 2:30p on a January afternoon, the temp has gotten up to only 44°F and it appears we won't reach our forecasted high of 52°F.

I heard it snowed in central Florida this morning!!!

It was snowing in Kendal and parts of Broward last night but nobody got a pic. Justnews is asking anyone to send a pic. It all melted by 6:00AM but I saw frost on my neighbors roof because he had the heat on. I've seen it before in other years so not a big deal. But it is pretty scary when you hear snow falling in South Florida. Last time was in '77.

I'm staying indoors till noon. Just took the garbage out and the wind is too cold.

I have driven Volvos for the last dozen years. The first couple I owned had a snowflake light that would go on when temps hit the mid-30s. I never knew if they worked or not because it never got that cold. Today I noticed an asterisk (which I assume replaced the stand alone light) next to the 34°F on the dash readout. I came down here to escape this stuff! Avg high temp here for this time of year - 76°F. We're a long way from that. I should be at the beach! :x

It'll warm up soon. I can't believe all the power outages because people are turning on the heaters. I know it's cold, like your Volvo says (moreso because of the wnd) but we can make it a couple of days and appreciate what the people up north are going through.

Hang in there, we'll be back to those endless days of summer on the beach soon enough :)

Here in southwest Iowa it's sunny and 4 below zero. We also have around 37 inches of snow on the ground. But we are all happy and warm at our house. Snow removal is what I do for guitar money so this winter I get to buy a shiny new guitar. I am going to buy my first american made stratocaster. I have a Fender acoustic, a Dean avalance with seymore duncan pickups, and a T60 Peavy I have owened since 1985. I hope nest mounth I can buy a new amp to go with my new guitar. I hate to admit it but I do pray for snow. Happy Trails and Play Happy :D

I hope so. My old winter clothes don't fit me anymore. It seems people up north are thinner in the summer when they're more active and put on fat during the winter. I thought having an endless summer meant I'd be endlessly thin . . . and I was WROOOONG!! :(

Dude! If you lose power, turn your taps on so a trickle stream is running. Moving water doesn't freeze as easily. Yeah... us Yankees know this stuff. Of course... if you're on a well the pump isn't going to run without power so your still going to be screwed.

Looks like we're in for another week of highs in the 70s and lows in the 40s. I can live with that. 8)
