I use a couple $15. korgs that work well, 3+ years. To answer vt blackstrat, I was told to use the neck pick-up with volume at ten, to get best string vibration/readings for tuners, also to strum string at 12th. fret. supposely it helps to get an accurate pitch/tuning. Read something about it in Premier guitar mag. also. my ears can't tell the difference, played loud for many years.

Thanks Dutchy! That's what I was looking for. I knew the tuner wasn't getting the strongest signal with the guitar volume at lesser levels and it seemed to work best set at 10. Was curious if that had any effect on the accuracy of the tuner. 8)

Damn... I've got to start wearing hearing protection when I start playing around with the amp master cranked up beyond 2. I already have tinnitus from riding motorcycles. :?

Boss Tu-2 is the best tuner on the market IMO
Perhaps you should define what you think makes it the best because there are other tuners that are more accurate (e.g. Peterson strobe tuners are 10X more accurate). I do understand that for live/general use the degree of accuracy that a strobe tuner achieves is not necessary but when one states that something is the best, it is important to define why they think this and in what context.

Matt,

I like it for what it does. It helps me tune my guitars and it can double as a power supply box. It has different modes and allows you to tune to any setting you want. Is it the best...not sure about that, but serves my purposes very well. I do know this, it is more accurate than my old Tu-12. :D

I saw an add for a new (?) Boss tuner and the picture shows the guy, a big guy, holding it up with two hands and it's as wide as he is. Must be close to 2 feet long!

I use the the Korg Pitchblack and would highly recommend that tuner as well. The TU-2 is accurate to within 3 cents and the Pitchblack is to 1 cent. It also has the capability to power other pedals as well.

I saw that tuner as well. A little big for my taste. Looks like it takes a lot of space in front of you as you play. Both my Boss Tu-2 and Tu-12 are small and compact. Just the right size for my pedal board.

The Tu2 is a great little tuner, but FWIW I prefer the Planet Waves Pedal tuner - solid, robust, east to use...
