I demo'd and purchased an Ibanez JEM 555 a few days before Christmas (available for pick up Jan 12th :x ) and have to agree. They are extremely light weight and versatile guitars. The neck is kind of wide (not sure on the radius, maybe compound 10-16?) but is slim. I have small hands for a guy and can manipulite this neck with ease! If considering and Ibanez I would suggest either the JEM or the RG (550 series and up).

Another option would be a Gibson Vixen. I'm not sure where it falls in terms of weight (Gibbys are notorious for being heavy from the word GO), but may suit your needs size wise.

Thanks. I was wondering about the JEM because I was looking at Guitar Center online and the only JEM they had was about 2 grand. That's way out of my price range. I'll check out the Gibson Vixen too. I love my Fender Squier, it's just that it is heavy and again, I have smaller hands.

Not that I want to promote a gibby here  So long as you're looking, have a peek at the Melody Maker. I got one a few years ago, and this little axe rocks. I've since swapped out the bridge pup (not that there was anything wrong with it) and put in a SD Quarter pounder 8) It's not that heavy weight wise, and feels great. I got the sunburst, I'd imagine a goth chick would go for the ebony

The JEM you saw was the 7v. The 555 retails new for about $1,200 but you can find used ones for about half that!

Ah, ignore all that and buy either an ibanez RG or an ibanez JEM. Both are light as hell, insanely comfortable and the sheer versatility and tone of one will blow you away.

Dont even get me started on looks:

Ah so many guitars, so little time.

And it stinks too because I sliced my fingers about a month ago and they're still healing. Haven't been able to play. They're getting better so time to dust off the Fender. I've missed her.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
