I'm still laughing about my story today :lol: , here it is;

Somewhere around the beggining of july 09. Me, two other mates are walking to school. We find a porn magazine on the ground. We look at it for a while. My mate hide it in his bag. We got to school. At recess we tried to smuggle the porn magazine into the library. We failed. We got in deep sh*t. The porn mag got taken of us (damn....).

The next day, period 1 in school (english). I get into the classroom, my two mates are sitting at a table. They invite me to there table. One of'em says, " The school rang my parents about yesterday and I'm grounded for a month". Us two say, " they didn't ring ours". The guy who got grounded said, " Riley (me), I know for a fact that you think*wherever we live* is a boring town made up of ferals, so why dont we run away?" I say, " Uhh, bullsh** we'll run away, we'll whimp out at the last minute. But I'm sick of *whereever we live*, its a feral town and I hate it. What will we do if we run away?" Other friend says, " If you guys are going, I'm going. Rileys right, this town's a hell hole." I say, " why dont we ride to wang?". The guy who got grounded says, " no way thats like 30 km away we'll never make it."I say, " think about it. Wang's got a good park that we can stay at, and we've ridden about 10 km and that took us about 2 hours. It should take us about six. We'll just bring some supplys, meet up somewhere and we go. Write a note or something to our family saying we need some time off." the guy who got grounded says, "its worth a shot........"

Somewhere around 7pm that night we planned it step by step via text. Here was the plan;

1. The night before we run away, pack your bags with cloths, food, water, money, your phone, blanket.
2. Get up that morning, say to your parents you'll ride to school, wait for your parents to go to work, write your farewell note, leave it somewhere noticable, take some money, and meet at the guy who got grounded's house.
3. Wait for the other guys mum to leave (the guy and the guy who got grounded live across the street from each other)
4. Get changed (we were wearing our school uniform)
5. Go to the guys house.
6. Let him write his farewell note, get changed and get his bag.
7. Go back to the guy who got grounded's house. Let him write his farewell note, and we're ready to go to wang.
8. Once we get there, go to the park and make a camp site. Stay there for as long as we can take, then go home.

That morning; It was cold. It ws misty. My parents left so I had to take advantage. I got my bag, wrote a txt that I would send to my dad, and I went to the guy who got grounded's house. I knocked on the door, the door opened. The guy who got grounded and the other guy were sitting by a heater wacthing TV. His parents weren't home. They said, "you sure you wanna do this?","yeah", I said. We waited for the other guys mum to leave, when she did we went over to his place. He got changed, wrote his note, got his bag and money, and we set off on our journey. It was about 8.55 when we left, 5 minutes before school started.I had about $20, the guy had about $50, and the guy who got grounded stole about $120. I yelled, "We're free boys!No more rules, no more school, no more of *wherever we live*!"
We were wagging school. We were riding, saying our farewell's to our town, until I started freaking out. We got to the outskirts of our town, where my mums work was. My mum works at a primary school, and we were practically right next to it. I swear to god, I saw my mum looking right at me when she was outside doing P.E. I said to the guys, "F*** this I'm F***ing going." the guys said, "Riley, dont stress out man, we have to work as a team." Before i could say anything, I just turned around and bolted on my bike back to school. But wait, I was out of uniform. So I got out my uniform, got changed on the side of the road and kept going to my school. I eventually got there, and went to class. It was about 9.40, so about 40 minutes wasted.
At about 10 o clock the guy who got grounded came back to class. His face was red as. I was laughing and said, "what the hell happened man?", He said this, "Well, we got up to the highway, we were right next to my mums work, and I just remembered she gets a brake at 10.00. It was 9.50. I just said to *the other guy* stuff this I'm going. He came to. But he was just cruising along, and I was going as fast as a f***** rocket! I was at my house to get changed, when I saw my mums car at the corner of our street. I bolted inside, put the money back, got changed, got rid of the note and climbed over the back fence and ran to school."
The other guy didn't come. It was recess. WE got our phones out and texted him. He said, "if anyone ask's I was sick on the way to school."

That was the funniest thing I've ever done  God I felt so stupid, me and my mates are still laughing about it today.

It may soud confusing, but I just had to let you guys know.We overreacted big time

That is very funny. At least you were all home for tea.

Were your parents any the wiser that you had anything planned or are they in the dark on this adventure to this very day?

I never did anything like that. 8)

I tried once but my wife caught me. She was on her knees in front of me and she said:"I can see you under the bed, get out and go wash the dishes". Never tried again. :D

Hey Riley!

That's a pretty good story! Made me laugh!

I remember plans for running away when I was about your age. I was going to move to the mountains and be a fur trapper like Jeremiah Johnson. I had a pretty well thought out plan as well.

Just about the time I was ready to put my plan in action we received an early winter blizzard in Colorado. It made me change my plans pretty fast...

Yeah, I ran away from home alright. That is, right into the arms of a pregnant woman that became my first ex-wife. Uuuuugh!

Riley the subject of your last two threads have me a little concerned and I would like to give you some advice and tell you some of the things that went on in my life that you can take for what it is worth but the PM on the Forum is disabled(which I have no idea why) and some things I would like to say I do not want plastered all over the forum.

I just want you to know that things that are going on in your life at such a young age are the same things that happened to a lot of guys. Getting caught with a magazine is normal, to be honest it does not belong in school but that is just the age you are at. Your teachers probably have the same magazine or DVDs at home.

The worst thing is to try and run from problems as you cannot run from yourself. So these things that are bothering you or stressing you out you are going to have to confront. If you did run away in two days you guys would of been broke, starving and probably freezing your $@! off or maybe something even seriously bad could of happened and for what? A porn magazine in school which when you get older you will look back on and laugh about it.

I grew up in a very rough area of NY and was 9 the first time I saw someone get killed, a car jumped a subway divider and hit a light post that landed on some guys head in front of a church, I can still remember going to get the priest to give him last rights, as I went to that catholic school. At 13 was the first time I saw someone I knew get killed stretched out in the street with 3 bullets in his head and it has been a long road since then with nothing I havent seen.

I have two sons 17 and 12 and have made it known since they could talk that there was not a problem or issue they cannot come to me with. I can remember when my older son was 13 he came to me about peer pressure of doing drugs as it was his first year of hanging out with what you would call the A list or cool crowd. I told him to just say it is not your thing and if they are truly your friends they will understand, as most adults who have drug problems dont care who do drugs as it is more for them. When he was 16 I asked him if he smoked pot as one of his best friends got caught and he said he tried it so I told him then you know what it is like and there is no need to have this talk again as if he got caught it would be a month before he saw outside again and he agreed. He started his freshman year in the B crowd is now a senior and the President of his school and on his way to college next year.

I am not a psychic or can see into the future it is just that I have experienced it in full. So when my kids ask me how I know all these things it is just seeing all the mistakes and what things do to people over years. The truth is most of the guys who are the cool kids now are the guys who wind up working for the kids who were not cool. They are more likely to wind up with drug problems and have a tough time making it as an adult. This is not the rule but for the most part the truth. I have never known anyone with a drug problem be able to maintain any success they achieved as an adult and have seen many make it big and lose it all and have also buried a lot of friends young because of it.

School is the most important thing there is and drugs will ruin many lives. Just be your own person and go to your parents when things are bothering you as they have your best interest at heart. Look at the positive things and dont dwell on the dark side for long periods. I said I also love the song Heart Shaped Box but I also dont want to be in one just yet. You are going to be fine in life but no one said it is easy.

Look, I'm almost fine now, the whole running away thing was just a big stupid, hilarious, dumb idea that we over reacted about.
And just to let you know, I dont get sad over our town, there's just nothing to do so it's so boring

I can't run away from my home. The bankers will catch me and put me in jail :)

Remember there is nothing you can do that your parents haven't already done when they were young so I'm sure they will understand and give you a hard time about it. But that is their job if they care about you.

Glad you made it back. Please wait till you have an income before leaving home. There are too many sick people out there to be wandering around looking for a job or money.

Thanks for sharing. It made me laugh too.

That is good to here Riley just looking out for you and want you to know you are just going through what mostly everyone went through. The concern was you have seemed down lately. Sometimes things seem worse than they really are, and I just want you to know you have friends here if you need some advice. How many young guys do you think could have overcome the medical adversities you did to be able to play guitar, not many. So that tells us what your made of.
