I think any.

Blues is a state of mind and a progression IMO. I play blues on Teles mostly but can do on anything.

Between the 2 you mention I see more LP players here in Belfast but like I said it's any.

As long as you got the blues, you can play the blues.

You may be right about more blues players using a Strat but there are some pretty mean blues players who use Teles too and I use an SG a fair amount, depending on mood. As already suggested, it's more the player and the feeling than the guitar. Add in the amp, the amp settings, etc. and in truth you can use about anything you want.

Between a LP or a Strat it would be an LP for sure. More Gibby Hollows like Sheri's and ES's and such.

I've seen just about every type of guitar used for blues. Strats, Teles and various types of Gibsons seem to be the most popular choices though. I can't tell which has the majority.

I've seen the blues played on $100. - $4000. guitars, it's all personal preference, or what you can afford. I've played strats for years but turned to a tele when I really got deeper into the blues. Most slingers in my area use strats, teles, L.P, es335s, S.Gs, and an occasional flying V.

When i think of a Blues guitar I think Strat or Tele just because that is what Eric Clapton and Buddy Guy uses. Around here the blues players are using Strats and semi hollow bodied archtops.

I think of the ES 335, Dutchy I'm with you the blues unlike any other music sounds just as awesome on a $100 Acoustic guitar as any other.

I'd call it a toss-up between the Fender Stratocaster and the Gibson ES-335.

Albert King Played a "V" upside down, and he made that sucker cry the blues

Im afraid its gotta be any of the Gibson ES series. Mostly the ES 335, ES 175, and the ES 5

Also, would i be right in thinking that perhaps the Epiphone Riviera would have a place somewhere in this?

I think the Strat is the standard.

I play a Washburn 335 copy and a set neck Telecaster, both play the blues quite nicely....thank you very much!

Personally, when I'm in a bluesy mood, it's my Tele Deluxe or my Melody Maker (changed the bridge pup to SD quarter pounder) both guitars are great for blues. If I want to rock out, it's my CIJ Vintage 62 Custom Car Tele, or Les Paul Studio. My Strat on the other hand can do both, I don't tend to use it much these days though :( I've actually been considering selling it, and getting a CS Tele. I'm holding off for now though, I've regretted selling other guitars in the past. And I have a Baja Players Tele on order, can't wait to get it :D
