3rd Gen Robot Les Paul. Retails for $4128

http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electri ... ation.aspx

Sounds interesting, too pricey for m though and I'm not a fan of LPs or modelling/shaping/emulating guitars. My VG never even really gets played and it is way simpler than this.

Well Gibson seems to have done alright with there robot and sales must be good because it is still around unlike the VG. But I do not like the looks of this guitar or any of the last 4 or 5 new models Gibson put out. But I give them a lot of credit for trying to come up with something new which I wish we would do.

For the money you'd spend on a Dusk Tiger you could by several good guitars with different tunings and a good multi effects processer and go to a gig without the fear of computer problems and the system crashing. There is one aspect of the Dusk Tiger that would certainly keep me from buying it,that is the potential cost of repair and upkeep after the warranty period is up and the availability of qualified repair outlets.A breakdown of your $4000 guitar could cost you not only for repair but extensive down time when you send it to a repair center.

Manufacturers suggested retail price is $4128. Real price $3000 give or take. Money that could be better spent on a custom shop Fender. IMHO.

I am a Fender man through and through...I think and again just my opinion...Gibsons are over priced for what you get. I know that there are some die hard Gibby fans here but haveing had an LP...I just couldn't bond with it...my Fenders...from the moment I had them in my hands they felt right..:) This guitar...it just to me says money pit..:(

Can i point out that gibson price's its guitars purely on making you think they're better because they're more expensive...

Personally, all this modeling nonsense seems whack to me. Its encouraging you not to make your own sound.

Mind you, you could combine a number of sounds to create your own sound.

Then again all the bases are covered, you want thick sounds, you get a LP, thiner you get fender, middle way you want PRS or Ibanez.

Ive really got to stop arguing with myself...

People who don't like Gibson are the ones saying they are over priced. It takes more time and money to make a set neck Les Paul then a bolt together Strat. People who don't think this just look at the factory process. Even the plek setups given to stock Gibbys is not a fast cheap process.

I like them both and others I could never bond to a Name.

Yeah, and add the binding.
