I guess I should of started this thread before posting, but it's never too late. It's really nice to see so many players of different ages & music tastes get along for the most part.

I'm a married lady, kind of feel like I'm invading a boy's clubhouse. :P I play blues mostly. Started taking lessons again 7 years ago. When I was 9 or 10 (it's been awhile) I started taking guitar lessons. Mom didn't like the fact that her daughter was playing electric, plus I think the loudness of the amp didn't help matters. So I was made to stop, no I've never forgiven her. Somehow she's conveniently forgotten all of this. :?

I just wish I hadn't of taken so long to pick up a Fender again.

Nikki

Wow. When I was putting together bands back in the dark ages, I would've killed to have a "girl" guitar player. They were always keyboard players.

Welcome.

Welcome Nikki- does your husband or anyone else in the family play an instrument? My wife used to play the trumpet in high school, but she gave it up  - I've tried to get her to take it up again, but her original trumpet was given to my younger son when he was 15 because he thought he wanted to learn- many drops and dents later- it sits in the case. The cost of a new decent trumpet is a bit out of the budget right now-and my wife says that her lip is shot--I think her lip is fine - she's still a great kisser! :D (drum roll)

My husband doesn't play, even though he says he always wanted to. I tried to show him a few things, but he complained his fingers were too short & not skinny. I told him he just needed to work harder & stop complaining. My daughter took lessons for a year, she's got a Fender. Hopefully she'll get back to it one day. Other than that I have plenty of cousins that play guitar and sing, guess it's in the blood.

Hey Nikki, if your hubby can't play the guitar- get him started on drums! :D Then you can start a band...

ya i'm stuck in an awful spot- noone in my family (or anyone i know) play any instruments and since i'm homeschooled right now i have noone to jam with. it's very sad because i would love to share ideas, songs, etc. with other people. I would also love to start a band.
i play piano/ keyboard, guitar, and i could do some bass (i already do some bass lines on my guitar) i could also do drums but i don't currently have a bass or drums. o well, there's not really anything i can do about it.
