The story as I heard it is that he hated long hair so much that he expelled the boys from high school. They took revenge by naming their band after him, but when he threatened them with a lawsuit, they changed the name to using all Ys.

Immortalized in song and story, notwithstanding. Poetic justice undeserved.

Mine was already a name I was using in real life as a stage/punk rock name. The actual name of the band is Crash Pad, not Krashpad:

http://www.crashpadband.com

But my legal/given last name starts with K, so by calling myself Brian Krashpad, either way I would have the initials "BK."

You're very welcome.

I guess I should say that if you follow the link and go to the "music" page, you can download our full length 2012 album for free, as well as find links to the lyrics and how to buy the vinyl LP, if you're into vinyl.

Since we're an old school punk rock and roll band, of course the music is not for everyone. And having a lead vocalist who recorded that album less than a full year after surgery, chemo, and radiation for throat cancer, that sorta takes the whole "experience" to another level, haha!

Pray your vocalist's outcome surpasses that of Carl Perkins' and George Harrisons'.

Actually I was aiming for just Johnny Rotten, Iggy Pop, or Jello Biafra at best.

Work with what you got.

;)

Fwiw, I have no probs whatsoever with Carl Perkins' or George Harrison's singing.

Or did you mean that those two singers had some sort of surgery or something?

Exactly...both artists succumbed to throat cancer.

Ah, no worries, I've been cancer free since as soon they finished treatment. Thanks!

In fact, in all probability I was cancer free the day they discovered it was cancer (during surgery) and cut it out. But we were really aggressive in treating it and did chemo and radiation even after the surgery appeared to have gotten it all. Also, those guys were no doubt smokers, and I wasn't.

Sorry to be late to the party, my name simply translates to the way a vinyl record sounds on a good turntable connected to a decent stereo. Sounds better than a CD, IME.

MP3s need not apply.

regards,
vinyl
