I want to know any info anyone has got on the band Chickenfoot. They've got Sammy Hagar on vocals and Van Halen's original bassist, Michael Anthony, on bass. I would love to see them live. Any tour info would be awesome!

I love this band!

Picked up their album a few weeks ago. Their album art is pretty cool. It's heat sensitive so when you touch it it changes the design and color.

I have heard four songs and I liked it and will probably get the CD.I agree with Bill but would like to see a sophmore album with Satch showing a bigger input
I have always thought of him as being such a great melodic writer of music as Coldplay could attest, without the rock cliche's I think he has some great songs in him with the right vocals. But I hope they stay away from the rock and party anthem theme next time.

I've had the original CD a long time.

I've heard recordings of a few of their shows too ... I think they are great.

Fun

Me, too. I liked Sammy in Montrose, his solo stuff up to about 1980, his solo project with Neal Scon (HSAS), and most of Van Hagar. The bulk of his prime solo stuff ("55", "Three Lock Box", etc.) is utterly forgetful to me. I was a fan of Satriani right up until I saw him live at the Fillmore West ... it was not until that gig that I realized how much better Steve Vai is than him. Night and day ...

I love this Band. Great to hear new Riff Rock with Satch as a side man. He really lives up to the part.

Is he a good guitar player? I know he's a good singer and plays lots of instruments in lots of good groups but can he solo? I can't find any footage of him soloing. not that it matters just kinda wondering! if you know any clips hook me up!

Hagar can definitely play and solo. The guy is very competent and holds his own ... but he is far from great. Hagar has always been at his best when paired with a more seasoned git player like Halen, Montrose, Schon (who is the weakest of the ones I am naming here, by far), and now Satch.

I guess I'm the only one who was less than impressed with this group. Personally I cant stand Haggars voice. And the lyrical content... well lets just say, "if you cant say anything nice..." Overall I was greatly disappointed. Such talented musicians, such a waste!

No, you are not the only one. I haven't heard anything that has motivated me to buy this one, either. Hagar's voice is probably their strong point, in my opinion. As for lyrics, that has always been a weak point on Hagar. Even though a good guitar player, I am just not a big Satch fan as I mentioned above. Michael Anthony's strength is as a background vocalist as he is a a very average-at-best bassist. Chad Smith is great drummer, though.

Talented bunch, but Hagar at times reminds me of a frat boy who isn't even half as cool or hip as he thinks he is...
