Famous people, I guess there was a few:

In college I worked for the sound/lighting dept, called Tech Services so I got to do some cool stuff and met a few artists.

Worked loader and backstage "gopher" at a show for Quiet Riot and Poison so met all of them. BTW, Poison were real dicks, drunk as hell.

Same job, met Ricky Skaggs.

Worked spotlight twice for REO and got to hang with them a little.

But my favorite story. I was working an internship/temp job with College Satellite network running video for shows in Nashville at the Opryland hotel. This was a showcase where performers got 20 min slots to play before delegates from tons of colleges, trying to get booked at their schools. The final night's show was at the Grand Ole Opry itself.

During the day's setup I was running around with some cables and as I came around a corner in a hall I plowed into Roy Clark. He was very coola about it and I apologized for running into him. He took a look at my KISS shirt and long hair and said, "I'm surprised you know my name, since you don't appear to be a fan of my kind of music." I explained that in our house growing up not a Saturday night went by that the folks didn't have Hee Haw on TV. He laughed at that, gave me a tour around some of the sets and we talked for about 1/2 hour.

BTW, I did tell him that he was a great guitar player, whether I was a fan or not. He was very gracious, very nice to talk to, a cool experience.

Capt. "we" is all the people who called you on it the last time you went on your little rant.

blackcatbone = dbr20, your friend from the last time you had a hissy fit.

And your comment about illogical right wing drivel is a cute comment considering how upset you get anytime "anyone" posts something that isn't in line with your political views. This is well evidenced from our last interaction and everyone else saw it. It's cute that even though you didn't know who I was you still locked in on my comment and got your panties in a bunch. Well played for someone who is so accepting of others opinions and beliefs.

Seriously dude, Happy Holidays and lets not go down this road again, we will have to agree to disagree. Go ahead now and get the last word and drop whatever insults you would like. I'm done, with the convo as I was the last time until you came back looking for more and locked onto someone else whose screenname you didn't know. Ok? Thanks.

I'm Southbound, baby I'm coming home to you...

so blackcatbone = dbr20. i guess that explains alot. i had no idea.

i guess my question for you is why do you have more than one account with the fender forum?

maybe you really are suffering from multiple personality disorder.

I worked for Sony Music Nashville in college so that would be too many folks to name in the entertainment industry. The best for me was meeting President George W Bush. I had been the Officer in charge of the military Honor Guard at Ground Zero for the closing ceremonies and on his way out he walked over to me shook my hand and talked with me for a couple minutes. He was a very humble sincere man. It was an honor and thrill for me.

That's one you never forget airbornestrat, meeting the President. My Parents went to a few dinners with Ronald Reagan as President and Bush Sr. once when President. Myself I did meet many Senators and Congressmen over the years through Dad. In fact I remember My Dad calling one Senator worthless as a wet blanket one time and the Senator stormed off in a huff. My Pop was involved with lobbing for the Military and pay scales, an Veteran groups. Growing up in My Family we spent many Holidays assisting and volunteering for Veteran causes.

Just goes to show, lots of different kind of "famous"

I have met 3 presidents: Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, and George Bush "41". And Hillary Clinton. and in my tours in DC I met a bunch of senators and reps. Douchebags, most of them.

General "Stormin'" Norman Schwarzkof

Don Maynard, the Hall of Fame receiver for the Jets, was one of my Sunday School teachers.
Jim O'Brien, who kicked the winning field goal for the Colts in Super Bowl V, grew up across the street from me in El Paso.
David Robinson of the Spurs was a Civil Engineer Corps officer in the Navy and we briefly served together in St Marys, GA. (Great guy!)

I have met:
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Rory Gallagher
Uli Jon Roth
Ian Anderson
Glenn Hughes
Chris Slade
Elliot Easton
Gilbey Clarke
Earl Slick
Kip Winger
Mark Slaughter
Dave Ellefson
All the band members from Night Ranger, REO Speedwagon and Styx
Chris Duarte
Billy Squier

Steve McQueen
Ali McGraw

That's all my feeble brain will recall right now.

.

You are so right Troublcall you notice after all the times I met Elected Public officials my most famous was Petty, Gordon, and Dale Sr. I did not consider Ted Kennedy as one of the most famous because he was one of the bags you spoke of. I have had the Honor to meet several Congressional Medal winner that no one has heard of thatare famous in there way but not to the public.

Derek Bell, Justin Bell, Dominick Dobson, John Paul Jr., Hugh Plumb, Andy Lally, and Bill Auberlein.

Kong forget what he should of been, as he was one of the greatest players to walk the planet.I was just as heartbroken when I heard he killed himself as the day SRV died. A truly amazing player and a sweetheart of a guy by all who knew him. I would suggest anyone to pickup his two Hot Licks DVDs and get an education. His version of Harlem Nocturne is on every DVD I burn. For those who dont know Danny was 14 year old Joe Bonammasa's guitar teacher.

Hey kineman karma, when was it you met Mr Izzy Stradlin?

Any cool info?

He's my favourite guitar player of all time. Everyone I've met who knows him or have met him I always try to get as much info on him as possible. He's like a ghost!

Greatly appreciate it.
Cheers,

CC

I agree. He was the greatest I have seen. I meant that it would have been nice if he was as appreciated as many lesser talents have been...
