I don't care what any of the haters or Liberals say, I would love to meet the guy and shake his hand or even to get to talk to him. And I am nit just saying that because you are a friend of mine but because I genuinely think he would be an interesting person to meet and talk with.

Thanks BCB. It was amazing. He looked me in the eye and the best part was that it was out of the public eye...so it was not a photo op for him it was the President talking to a lowly captain at the time and he really mad a positive impression on me. The haters and Liberals are just folks who see only what the media wants them to see and not the true person, so in a way, I feel sorry for them because they miss out on a lot of incredible experiences. BTW be safe getting back to Peru! Let me know when you are back there and if you need anything just give a yell!

can the two of you explain to me what politics has to do with this thread?

airbornes first post was fine...it was responsive to the subject of the thread.

but then the two of you had to bring up "haters and liberals" when no one has written anything negative about george w....and as though haters and liberals are some monolithic category of people that all think alike.

george w. would be someone interesting to meet.

Captain,
If you look at what I was saying..I was not involving politics I was stating how I feel sorry for people who let things like the media color their views...I tend to stay away from political issues...you know the rule...money, politics and religion are bad subjects to talk about. BCB is a good bloke and meant nothing bad. He was voicing how he feels about Pres Bush...no harm intended.

The highlight of my life(so far--I'm only 14) has been communicating with Brian May through email. Before exchanging emails with Brian, though, I had exchanged emails at another time with his assistant, Jen--twice.
Oh yeah.

A person who I actually met in person was Tommy Emmanuel, and it was certainly a chance encounter, but I ended up just waltzing in a taking a workshop with him and a bunch of other people who had previously known he was teaching there.
It was a chaotic experience, seeing as though when I saw the dude, I had just a hint of who he was--and that was only because my mom and I had watched a video of him playing "Guitar Boogie" the previous night, because one of our neighbors had an extra ticket to the concert he was performing that night, and had offered to take me because he knew I loved everything and anything about guitars.
Of course, I accepted.
At that time, though, I hadn't even heard of Tommy Emmanuel, but I said, "Hell, why not?!?".
God, am I sorry I hadn't known who he was prior to that!!
The man's a guitar genius! :P

Anyway, the concert was just amazing(even better than Pat Metheny in the Gary Burton Quartet), and the workshop was even MORE amazing!!!!

And, of course, I was the youngest and the only girl.
Joy.

At least I got some hands-on teaching from him, though, which was awesome.
And he's a really nice, funny, and polite guy; he doesn't seem egotistical at all for a guitarist of his skill level.

Capt we missed you! I can't help but notice that you seem to be trying to get my attention since 2 of your most recent posts were directed towards me. You seem upset still from our last interactions. So here you go, I didn't want you to think I was ignoring you:

...we aren't going into this nonsense again. You're going to have to accept the fact that not everyone holds the same beliefs as you and that as long as I or anyone else stays within the terms of service set by Fender, I and everyone else can post what we please and you'll just have to get upset or continue to try and get my attention only to get ignored as you did the first time you came back trying to pop off I when ignored it...just let it go man. I've got a flight to catch and I am Southbound, I won't be on here for a few days so go ahead and get the last word because I am going to leave you with this:

Hi Capt!! Hope all is well with you!! Merry Christmas! Hope you have a Happy New Year!

- We snuck backstage after a concert to see Yo Yo Ma. With no security we walked right in the stage door on the back. There was no one there, but Ma's spectacular cello all by itself ... again, right by an unproteceted door to the outside. I was shocked the cello was left so ridiculously vulnerable. We went looking for Yo Yo Ma, and ended up physically running into him. Oops .. very nice guy.
- The bulk of late '90s Oakland Raiders (Al Davis who is a REAL nice guy to meet, Jon Gruden w/ his crushing handshake and way more freckles than the TV shows, Tim Brown, Rich Gannon, Charles Woodson, et al, et al ...)
- Veteran Raiders Bo Jackson, Marcus Allen, Jim Plunkett
- Jerry Seinfeld and I accidentally bumped into each other because neither of us were watching where we werre going (we were looking at cars)
- Saw John Goodman almost too drunk to walk the Sunday morning before Mardi Gras in New Orleans
- Saw Layne Staley at some historic car races shortly before his death (it was a very warm day, and he had on jeans, leather jacket, and a leather hat)
- Carlos Santana stopped and talked to us before going in the stage door for a concert (he was driving some bizarre European car) and had a guitar on his back in a sack.
- A bunch of S.F. Giants including Barry Bonds, Willie McCovey, Jeff Kent, Orlando Cepeda, et al, et al
-

what are you talking about?

it is true that i posted a question for you in the avatar thread.

http://www.fender.com/community/forums/ ... hp?t=31538

but other than that i have never had any past interactions with you.

you seem to be delusional and suffering from paranoia.

as far as my post you are refering to in this thread...if you read it correctly you would know that my post was directed at two people, you and airbornestrat.

also, when you wrote "Capt we missed you!"...i am trying to figure out who else you speak for other than yourself. or did you have a mouse in your pocket when you wrote your post? or maybe besides being delusional and paranoid you are also suffering from multiple personality disorder. who is we?

also, what nonsense are you refering to? as i stated the only time i have posted anything directed at you was in this thread and the avatar thread.

furthermore, you misunderstood my post in this thread. did i ever write that you or airbornestrat or anyone for that matter does not have a right to post what ever they want? of course everyone has a right to post whatever they want in this forum.

but what you seem to want to be able to do is post right wing illogical drivel in this forum without anyone calling you on it. like you did in the avatar thread and this thread.

zzdoc called you on it in the avatar thread and you got you panties in a wad... just like you have gotten them in a wad about what i posted in the avatar thread and this thread.

in my post in this thread i really wanted to know why the two of you had to bring up "haters and liberals" when no one had written anything negative about george w? yet you have chosen to ignore my question...

thanks for wishing me a merry christmas...but i don't celebrate christmas. i am jewish.

happy holidays...

Let me start by saying airports on Christmas day are a nightmare but I've been through it the past 5 years!

Capt. "we" is all the people who called you on it the last time you went on your little rant.

blackcatbone = dbr20, your friend from the last time you had a hissy fit.

And your comment about illogical right wing drivel is a cute comment considering how upset you get anytime "anyone" posts something that isn't in line with your political views. This is well evidenced from our last interaction and everyone else saw it. It's cute that even though you didn't know who I was you still locked in on my comment and got your panties in a bunch. Well played for someone who is so accepting of others opinions and beliefs.

Seriously dude, Happy Holidays and lets not go down this road again, we will have to agree to disagree. Go ahead now and get the last word and drop whatever insults you would like. I'm done, with the convo as I was the last time until you came back looking for more and locked onto someone else whose screenname you didn't know. Ok? Thanks.

I'm Southbound, baby I'm coming home to you...
