Anyone else stunned by the non-inclusion of Kenny Wayne Shepherd from the line up - both before in Dallas and coming up in Chicago?

Yeah I am a little surprised by that... I guess EC is not a fan of his, in the 1st CR Eric says, "I invited all of the players that I am a fan of or have in my CD collection"

I went to the Kenny Wayne Shepherd & Hubert Sumlin show at the Uptown in KC a few months back. I thought he blew the doors off the place. Great show

Could be KWS has prior commitments.

Hmm, I reckon 99% of musicians would change their plans for such an event - especially that organised by EC.

Not always easy. If KWS had his tour schedule already done and tickets had been pre-sold before EC announced the Crossroads date then KWS would be locked into his previous commitment.

Fair enough for Chicago, but was he touring circa Dallas?

All speculation of course, but he'd be a great feature on the bill.

There are very many accomplished guitar players that will not be in Chicago. I don't think it is a slight to any of them.

At Dallas, it was kinda surprising that neither John Mayer (whom I am only so so impressed with, but is well loved in the biz) and Eric Johnson, who IMO is a fantastic player, played on Sunday when it looked like the big dogs were playing. Of course, Mayer was in a jam session with biggies and BB. But one cool thing was we got to see Eric J pretty up close as he drove past us in a black Audi going to the gig.

BTW, Dallas was way cool, and yeah KWS should be invited.

Belle Chere is great. Just thought I'd throw that out there. I've been a couple of times.
