Sorry for the double post, I also posted this on the Custom Shop section, since the are a CS product.

I found a deal on a new set of '69 CS Pups. They look like the real deal to me, and you can see the date and signed by Abilgail. I can grab them for $125. If new and original I'll get them, but I'm always nervous about fakes on-line. New at CG they are 149+SH+tax, so I feel this is a good deal. All you experts out there, Mike E?, please let me know.

Thanks for any input.

My guess is that they are fake, or at least real and Abigail's signature is fake; if they were truly signed by Abigail, they would be WAY more than 125.

Guitar Center and others sell these new for $149. The GC description does say these pups are all signed and dated by Abigail. The spec's here on Fender products also state she has wound, singed and dated each one of these.

I would spend the extra 25 bucks and get brand new. If someone bought them and decided to sell them at a small loss, I could understand that... that's the type of thing I would do... but if I wanted to purchase I would buy brand new. If you look around you can probably get 10 percent off and that would knock the new from store price to 135 which is a good deal. Let someone else get the bargain and maybe the ripoff. They may even be damaged. Not worth the hassle

Musician's Friend has 20% off all(?) Fender products until (I think), the 24th. That puts them $5 cheaper that the used. I'm not 100% sure the deal includes pups but it's worth a call.

All of the CS 69's are signed or initialed and dated by Abigail Ybarra. On pickups I always prefer to buy new from a dealer. That way you can be sure to get the real thing. From what I can see in the photos they look like the ones I have, which I purchased new.

I bought mine on ebay last summer from one of the fender retilers for $132 and that seemed like a good deal since retilers in Canada sell them for more than $200 sometimes $240, which is crazy considering that our dollar is almost at par with $US. (maybe they bought them when we were around %70 exchange rate).

Pictures you attached are not the clearest but they seem legit and not used. Cloth wiring seems intact (allthough can't see all the wire ends).

Be aware that they are not reverse wound/an polarized so there is no hum cancellation on pos 2 and 4. They still sound sweeeeet in the neck and I started to like the bridge since I wiered the tone control to the bridge.

Hope that helps

These are initialed by Abby, not signed, so they are simply supervised by Abby not wound by her like those:
