Those are pretty cool.

No place to use them until Jr gets out for college and his room becomes my music room. :D

You're not gonna trust those cheesy screw anchors with your babies, are you?

No way. Toggle bolts for drywall/plaster. Or gold drywall screws into a stud
or framing member. The gold drywall screws are way less brittle than the black ones.

Use the hole(s) in the hanger for a template. Hold it on the wall where you would like to hang your gittar. Mark the hole(s) location with a pencil.
Then drive the pointed end of a nail set into the wall at the pencil marks.
Turn the nail set around and drive the blunt end into the hole, making a perfect sized hole for the butterfly end of your 3/8ths" toggle. Insert the toggle screw(s) into the hanger holes. Screw the butterflies onto the screws
at least 1/4" past the butterfly. Insert the butterflies into the holes and pull the hanger towards you til the butterflies are against the inside of the plaster/drywall. Use your rechargable screwgun drive in the toggle screws.
Allow the screws to pull the hanger to the wall, alternating back and forth between screws until the hanger is against the wall. If you strike a wall stud
during installation, your clean living has paid off. Simply install the hanger
by driving screws through the finished wall into the stud.

Now use you new skill to install brand new towel bars in you mother's bathroom, it would be nice.

Taurus

The secret is to go into a block wall. If theres no float ad set on the wall find a plaster dab by tapping the wall and listening for the hollow/solid difference in sound.
I must of put 9 of them things up over the years. As you said never go into a void.

Over masonry? Here's what to do...
Use the hanger holes as a template and mark the screw location. Using a 1/4" masonry bit, drill into the screw locations marked on the wall.
Make pilot holes slightly deeper than the screws are long. In this case the
screw anchors are reliable. If you don t have any, DO NOT PANIC. Simply
drive slivers of wood or even toothpicks into the pilot holes, not too tightly packed. And break them off flush with the wall suface. Place the hanger on the wall and drive the wood or drywall screws home. If it is after 5PM, have a cold one.

I need a few, so I ordered them. Saved about $10 from what they would have cost at the store. Thanks. 8)
