My inspiration to become a guitarist would be my uncle. He's mad about guitars. But when I got my ashton 3 quater size it was only a pastime, and I played it very rarely. Until, I saw the way that daron malakian played. He looked like he was having so much fun, and that inspired me to pick it up once in a while. Finally, Kurt Cobain inspired me to start song writting, and getting obsessed with guitars.

you've got to be the first one ive heard mention Cobain as an inspiration for song writing. No one i know has ever said that he was an inspiration. He is a very good song writer

Yeah I know, if you listen to alot of his songs they have a very good meaning. Everyone thinks teen spirit is the best song by them, but I know a hole bunch of diffrent songs by them that are better, and have a better meaning. Plus his guitar work in the songs are just great.

Izzy Stradlin.

Probably the coolest guy on the planet:

an AMAZING songwriter,

an outstanding guitar player,

wrote, played and sang in the biggest band in the world at the time,

just released his 10th solo album,

tours with anyone he wants and is the only GN'R member to have played with both New GN'R and Velvet Revolver as well as getting mentions in the sleeves of both bands albums

has refused membership of Black Crowes, New York Dolls, re-joining GN'R and Velvet Revolver, writing with Aerosmith - because he can,

can basically get anyone he wants on his albums (Ron Wood, Ian 'Mac ' McLagan, Marc Ford etc),

fulfilled his dreams of opening for both Aerosmith and The Rolling Stones by the time he was 25. Steven Tyler also helped him get clean via a 2 day phone conversation,

quit GN'R at age 29 after playing Wembley Stadium due to being clean and his best friends ego's running away from them. GN'R didn't release original material again for 17 years due to their main songwriter departing,

is the only guy I know who has made W' Axl Rose cry (lol),

and can still walk down the street without getting mobbed even though he probably passed hundreds of people listening to his songs.

My hero since I was 9 years old and he turned me on to so many other cool bands and is the basis for my block solid type of playing.

He is the reason I have a career. Respect to the Strad'

CC

Sounds like he inspired you alot. I forgot to mention this in my last post, but also I would have to be one of my inspirations, not my biggest though. I try to keep as independent as I can, so yeah I'd have to say this is the order of my inspirations (in order).

1. My uncle

2. Daron Malakian

3. Myself

4. Kurt Cobain

my inspiration was a tempory worker in the company. he was a guitarist in a local metal band. i asked him about the band and guitars. in nov. 95 we went to the music store in town and testing some gear. and i took home: ibanez js 100, hughes & kettner attax 40, cable, chord book, strap, pics, gig bag. now then i start hear more guitarists like joe satriani, steve vai and other, rock, blues and metal. before i heard more pop, r&b and prince.

cheers :D
