WOW, another Paisley Strat. I think that yours is the first one I have seen on this forum other than mine. COOL!!!
Is your a 1984-87 '72 RI MIJ E series also?? Not too many of these around.

Hey PS,,,,,Yeah it’s a 84-87 MIJ…it’s a great instrument and a best friend.. Out of the 7 guitars I currently own it’s my # 1 and has been for the last 20 something years. I have had a lot of guitars come and go over the years and it remains my favorite… funny because I was always a Gibson fan and never really wanted the thing.. Bought it off a friend just because he was in a bad situation and needed the money; I was just gonna’ re sell the thing but fell in love with it soon after the purchase and it has been my mainstay ever since. I have been GASin’ for either some EMG pickups or some Hotrails for it for a long time but its hard to do; the stock PU’s in it are very nice and even know I cant really get metal tones out of it the sounds I do get are fabulous. I think we will just age naturally together and leave it alone, ya know

Cheers
Bill

Well, I bought mine new in Jan. 1989, so I have had mine for 20+ years too. It is my favorite(and my forum namesake), and I have used it for live shows, and recording. I bought it to have a flashy guitar to play live gigs back when I gigged a lot. I happened to install a set of EMG SA pickups and pots just after I bought it. They sound great, and having no hum for live shows or recording was a big selling point. My one mistake was that I sold the stock pickups right after I installed the EMGs. I wish I still had them, but oh well. Back in 1989, it was just a MIJ Strat, and I had no idea it would be collectable one day. Live and learn. Image

WOW Paisley Strat…very nice collection you have there… the paisley looks so good with the EMG’s in it but weird because I’m used to seeing mine with the stock PU’s in….lovin the tele there as well. You don’t see many Pink paisleys out there…I tried to sell mine once or twice in a fit of stupidly, GASin for something else, or in need of cash, but thankfully my wife won’t let that happen, as it is her favorite guitar as well….sure glad I held on to it all these years…
