I just stumbled upon one variax 600 the other day and i was quite impressed...
But i wanted to know if anyone owned one and if it's the real deal, or just one of those love relations that evolves to like and eventualy boredom...
i'm realy puzeled by the guitar :!:

Check Warmoth, they make bodies for them so that means the wood is not very good. Otherwise the electronics are probably something nice to have in your collection.

Although, I think Fender has a digital guitar as well with a similar concept.

I wouldn't spend a whole lot of money on them.

What? Warmoth make bodies for everything, that doesnt mean there is anything wrong with the body wood o_O

ANd yes, Fender make the VG Stratocaster, but that isn't as comprehensive of a modeling guitar as the Variax.

I've played around with them, they're neat guitars.

I'd love to get the 700. The acoustic sounds are great! I was hoping the VG strat would sound like the variax but it failed.

The variax technology is pretty sound, but sadly the guitars are just thrown together in indonesia somewhere in a shed.

I remember a guy a while ago made his own guitar and fitted it with the variax technology

Here he is, hold on to your socks;
