Lucky dudes what do get to work at that awesome Fender company,

Any chance of an Abigail Ybarra biography and interview on fender.com? She deserves her own page (a la "Artists")!

Hers is truly a great story. The making of a legend.

This unassuming woman lands a simple job with Fender, in the 50's, winding guitar pickups, makes a few wrong turns and winds up 'Joseph' to Leo's 'Pharaoh".

I am absolutely convinced that she can't believe her own publicity, but is enjoying every minute of it.

No unfortunatly Ms. Ybarra was not available .But I am going to suggest that maybe Fender U ask if she would not mind doing a seminar on pickups at the next session .She is a national treasure.

There was a gal there that was highly responsable for some very INCREDIBLE sounding Fenders from 50 to 62 that I know of -- her very unique yarn ball type wind pattern sounded better then all the other winders who ever worked at Fender -- including the well loved A.Y.
and Leo Fender knew this too and left her alone and let her wind them her way.. thats very different from going side to side,
and its been well docmented over the years that some pups sounded better and that there was one lady there responsible for most all of them and it was not A.Y.

Abby probably knows her name.. I wished I did,,..
Now make no mistake what I'm saying A.Y. can wind a nice pretty sounding Fender pup too.. But it simply was not the real lady behind these great Vintage pups.. who was already there 8 years or more prior to A.Y,'s arrival...I hope like heck that Abby is rewarded far better then most businesses ever do reward employees.. it would be a sin if she's on the cheap end of the stick when these pups are a bringing in big numbers!
