Battle Studies? I was wondering what this post was when I saw the title. Now I know why it's a John Mayer release, the mans name should be used in the definition of overrated!!!!

eassssssssssssy killer, if u dont like it kool, and if u read my post you would see i am not a fan of this record, my point was simply every thread about john mayer turns into a debate about it he over rated or not, i was just sayin lets make is a discussion of the quality of the record, not if u think john is overrated or not

If Mayer fan's don't want to hear negative opinions, then maybe you should confine your endless posts to mayer only boards.

Battle Studies is just another mediocre offering from a mediocre artist.

he is an empty suit. Technically proficient, yet forgettable, like elevator music.

There are already too many threads geared toward JM's overratedness, I'd take it there instead.

Kerski simply wished to express his/her appreciation for it. To each their own?

Whoever posted the first negative comment about JM in this thread got exactly what they wanted. Started another argument that's gonna be hot for a week, and then move to the 5th & 6th pages and beyond.

Hi Kevin, The post was do you like Battle Studies. What was expected when such a question is asked. Everybody supposed to say WOW great? I don't think so.
The nature of asking for an opinion is going to bring those that disagree. And there is nothing wrong with that for we all think differently.

I have, I think it's boring, just like I think all his stuff (except a couple live clips of his Trio i have seen,) are boring. Personally I think he's mediocre, and bland. Not telling you to, but if you don't want to hear it don't keep posting about him.

selling a ton of records doesn't always mean you are awesome, it can mean you are well marketed. ABBA has sold more records than everyone except Elvis, the Beatles, Micheal Jackson and Frank Sinatra. So Abba i guess is much better than Led zep, the Stones, The eagles etc...

I'm not going to tell you not to like him, but the JM posts all ask what people think, then his supporters get upset when not everyone agrees.

The new John Mayer album is just that: an album by John Mayer. Nothing wonderful about it at all and to me it's just like the rest of his solo work. I find it to be boring frat boy music. No offense to anyone who likes it of course.
