Pre 1964 US Quarters shaped into guitar picks. They're made from silver, warm nicely, don't get slippery when you sweat, and they last.

I also have two silver-coin picks: one made from a quarter and one made from a half dollar. The seller on eBay calls them Mojo Picks. I like them too. 8)

Fender medium premium celluloid (abalone) are my favorite 'strumming' pick (I play a lot of rhythm guitar in one band).

I know a lot of guys that like the Dunlop Jazz III nylon picks. They're great for faster picking, and I am starting to like them more since I switched to slinky 12's.

edgefan, welcome to the Forum, "I switched to slinky 12's." I looked at the 12's package and it says "Not Even Slinky" :D big sound though, I dig 'em 8)

Thanks! The question I ask myself is why did I play 9's for so long... 11's and 12's are where its at for tone (at least for me).

I like using those Dunlop Jazz III picks. After I started experimenting with jazz picks, I really had trouble playing with regular-sized picks.

Ah well, all a matter of preference, no?

I like the feel of a Dunlop Tortex myself and I tend to switch from the orange to the yellow and back again depending on what mood I'm in. I really will use anything though. My little girl bought me a pack of picks that I normally wouldn't have selected and I've worn them out because I couldn't stand to not use them in front of her.

I'm not too fond of picks, myself. Often just use my fingers. I like to feel the strings. Plus I can be more expressive with my playing.

Right now I just have a couple of picks that came with a Washburn acoustic guitar I bought a few years ago.

But, most of the time I'm using my fingers and nails.
Hell on the manicures, though.

I like pretty colorful picks  haha! but 4real I use extra heavy Evenly Music co. picks...they have a hole in the middle so the pick doesnt slid around

More & more these days I use my fingers--and I started with my thumb, then took classical lessons.

But I do use picks--
Mostly these ones-

I also use double picks-

Here are a couple of my old worn out ones I kept all these years for some reason. I scanned them onto my computer.

I've been starting to use this pick alot recently; (sorry for the bad quality)

Image

Its a big stubby 2.0 mm, great grip.

I bought this one about 2 years ago, i consider it my lucky charm.

Image

It hasn't got a brand, no grip whatsoever, and its about as thin as paper.

I also use this thumb pick alot, its a dunlop with some glu tack on it for grip.

Image

No more customized pick for me :D :D
