Riley have you ever tried using a thumbpick? Could be worth looking into if you're having trouble holding regular picks as they basically wrap around your thumb.

Cheers mate!

Yeah I've gota couple of them. My pointer finger slides of an i just lose it completley.

I use whatever pick is closest to me, I've been known to used coins, pieces of old credit cards, piece of a broken ping pong ball etc. If all else fails, I just play with my fingers ^^

I use .96 Gatorgrip for picking and Tortex .50 for strumming.

Right now, I'm using a Planet Wave pick that I found in the Sam Ash parking lot...

I'm trying them all Fender, Dava, Clayton, Dunlop ... The only thing I'm sure of is I prefer a thicker pick. Like 1.0+. I have ordered some V-picks and we'll see what all the fuss is about. I do hear a tonal difference in some of the pics.

I use Dunlop Nylon .73&.80 they don't slip out of your grip no matter how hard you bash the strings or how sweaty your hands get.

I think I am going to have to market my own.lol I use Dunlop 1.14 that I get a serrated knife and have to shave the whole pick front and back except for the very tip to where it gets a sandpaper feeling. Whenever I pull one out people are bewildered but it keeps it tight in my hand and impossible to lose my grip but it is a pain. I had read years ago Clapton did something similar as I aiways had problems sweating and losing my grip.

Vanhalen glues sandpaper to his. I thought I had the perfect ones years ago with the black Dunlop 1.m nylon as they had the writing protruding as a grip but after 2 hours they start bending.

Dunlop stubbies 3.0mm or sometimes 2.0mm. I keep saying I'm going to order some V picks but my pocketbook says no...

Dunlop Fingerpicks, my bare hands or some picks I made myself from a piece of fine brazilian rosewood that was too small to become a guitar fretboard. I also make picks from any other material that I find interesting and that can be made into a guitar or bass pick.

Wegen 3.5 mm Gypsy Jazz... the grips that he machines into these work well. Lovely chunky pick.
