I was just curious about what type of picks people on here use.

Seeing that I have mild dystonia in my right side, I actually use a big triangular pick straaped onto a old peice of protractor...........I know, bit embarasing

No need to be embarrassed at all man. Do what you gotta do to get the tunes out.

I use Dunlop Tortex, .50 for acoustic and I use either .50 or .60 for electric depending on the type of song I'm playing. I find a slightly stiffer pick gives me more accuracy when playing quick or complicated lines but at the cost of tone and feel.

Dunlop Tortex picks, either the yellow or the orange, and/or Fender Mediums. And I won about a hundred Ernie Ball Heavy picks from the King of the Blues contest, so I use those too. I'm not too picky about what picks I use just as long as they aren't too thin.

Fender "351" Premium Celluloid, mediums for electric and for acoustic I occassionally use "Sharkfins" by JVB.

Riley have you ever tried using a thumbpick? Could be worth looking into if you're having trouble holding regular picks as they basically wrap around your thumb.

Cheers mate!

Hey riley, check out the "paddles" these guys use on their instruments. I know they are not guitars, but it does kind of open your eyes to the possibilities. :)

I use a brass pick. No tone like metal on metal.

Or my fingers and thumb.

Another V-Picks user here as well. The Medium Pointed is my favorite.

Here's what I choose from:

I'm now mostly using the V-Picks - the clear ones towards the bottom.
