Years ago I was given a Tim's Own Fuzzer Buzzer by a tech friend when he was cleaning up his shop.It has the funkiest 60's style fuzz tone I've heard. It has only a volume and tone control but the fuzz is incredible, sort of like the sound of the fuzz in Journey To The Center Of Your Mind by Ted Nugent's old band The Amboy Dukes. It's made mostly of chromed metal but the sides are wood covered in vinyl.I was told these units were made in Boston in very limited numbers,it looks to be completely hand wired and of good quality for that era.Does anyone know anything about this little gem?

All I could turn up was there were a few similar fuzzes to "Tim's Own Fuzzer Buzzer" made (apparently) by one unknown builder and usually branded with a graphic belonging to the music store that commissioned the pedal run. A Manny's version of the fuzzer buzzer fetched close to $400 at auction in 2008. Obscure fuzzes of the '60s and '70s seem to be enjoying a resurgence at the moment... I've seen a few Shin-ei FY-2 boxes going for close to that amount recently.

I've been looking for a pedal that will make that 60's "bumblebee in a coffee can" sound. Still looking. :)

A Rat pedal can get that sound by cranking the gain and turning up the filter. Killer bees!

Thanks for the info,I certainly tip my hat to Tim whoever he is or wherever he was from ,he certainly knew how to put funk into a fuzz.BTW this beauty sounds like a swarm in a coffee can.I wonder if the schematic on one of the sites contains enough info to build a clone, that is if the electrical components are still available.A pedal built to these specs would be great for anyone into psychedelic era music.
