I might get a new amp for christmas, and i have my eye on the fender hot rod deluxe right now. I read that it's pretty good. Any comments?

Exactly, except the 50 lbs is a little uncooperative some times, so I put casters on, that helps. I use it all the time too. wonderful sound.

The hot rod deluxe is a great amp. I use mine all the time. It is loud, as someone else said, but I would rather not have to turn mine up too far. You can't go wrong with it.

Go for it...it's a great tube amp that will give you a wide range of tones. Good value for the buck.

Great value "TUBE" amp. Nice wattage for clubs (40 watts of tube output is enough for most gigs). It will make a nice basis for many configurations you can dream up. It had built in overdrive and works well with stomp boxes thanks to the tube output. :)
