Finally finished writing another one. After a bit of a creative drought I decided to try writing something not in standard tuning to see if that would help at all. And here it is. It's a fairly standard unrequited-love type song. Let me know what you think.

"Carolina"

Lyrics:
Hey take a look at me taking looks at you
Trying to pretend that it isn't true
To pretend that I don't feel the way I do

But I don't need no mathematician to break it down
Need no magician to find my ground
I gotta figure this one out all by myself

If I could only find the words to say it right
Then maybe you'd be here tonight
Might be just wishful thinking but my, my what a sight

Oh, Carolina whatcha doing to me
Whatcha doing to me
Whatcha doing to me
Carolina whatcha doing to me
Where are you taking me today

Carolina won't you stay with me
Won't you stay with me
Won't you stay with me
Carolina won't you stay with me
We'll make the state lines wash away

Hey take a look at me trying hard to prove
That I can find another just like you
Tried to prove that I don't need you-well I do

'Cause every time I start to turn and walk away
My empty streets flood in the pouring rain
The music ceases and the colors fade to gray

Like when I turn my head to see what I've left behind
It's like I've fallen back in time
I stumble, trip and crumble as the the memories flow like wine

Oh, Carolina whatcha doing to me
Whatcha doing to me
Whatcha doing to me
Carolina whatcha doing to me
Where are you taking me today

Carolina won't you stay with me
Won't you stay with me
Won't you stay with me
Carolina won't you stay with me
We'll make the state lines wash away

Your name collects in my throat like fog on a window pane
I wrote it in the blinding steam then watched it fade away
But I can only pray
You'll start to feel the same

T1G,
I really enojoyed the song, and the harmonica playing was a real surprise to the song 8) . Though I dont care for Bob Dylan, i did admire the fact that he could play more than one instrument at a time....while I have a hard enough time playing one  . I think you have a lot of talent as i have heard some of your songs and liked the melody and the lyrics. I assume that you want an honest opinion and thats why you posted it here.

I thought the lyrics were great, but the chorus itself is reminicent of a "Hey there Delilah" type chorus...believe me i am not trying to bust your chops or anything remotely close to that, because i cant do what you do. I also admire the fact that you have enough confidence to post your vid here. Overall I liked the song. :)
