I have a couple by Souldier Straps, one by Italia Straps, some old Ace type straps, and a Franklin Strap that is incredible...the Glove Leather Series; super comfortable, great leather.

wow ,this thread came from the past june of 07, those were the days.
I like my custom shop strap that came with the DG Strat. But I recently discovered soldier straps and am very partical to them.

Padded straps are cool, I'm not an expert on guitar straps, if you play in the standing position you will need one, I wouldn't spend a lot of time thinking about it when you could be practicing or playing.

Easy... I don't gig. Play mostly seated on a wooden stool. Practicing between one and two hours pretty much every day. My $@! gives out on that hard wooden stool before my shoulder gets sore from the strap. Mine is a cheap Ernie Ball in your basic black. It's all I need at the moment. 8)

I just use a plain black fender strap...pretty much as basic as a strap gets I suppose but I like it.

The best straps in my book are Italia leather straps. I have two of the 2" and two of the 4" (one for my Precision FL and the other for my Ken Smith 6-string FL).

They are located in CA and they regularly have a 2 for 1 sale. Not cheap, but they'll last a lifetime. If you can time it for a 2 for 1, then it's a good deal.

The best ones that I've seen have been hand made by a craftsperson who loves their work and only makes them for friends.
