Coil cords have been around since I was a kid and probably longer. I'm 54.
They are usually pretty noisy when you stretch them and when they get twisted up it's a mess.
Fender I think has two versions, one that's a little less expensive than the other. Personally I use George L's .255's and like then a lot.

Try some out, you may like them. Just make sure you stratch them out and listen for noise. Some of the old ones acted like radio antennas.

+1

I am not a fan of them, i prefer to use chords with neutrik or switchcraft ends on them, i seem to have less signal noise, and less over all troubles with them then anything else i use

Hello Dutchy,

I got one last week
for my birthday,
Cheaper grade--15 foot--white.

Yep it's noisier than my GeorgeL.
It's 15' stretched out, 4' regularly.

Do I like it? Yeah it's cool for me.

I got more noise commin from my
amps so no biggie at all. Getting caught
up in things, again not an issue as I sit
when I play here in my home.

It's about as cool as a Schwinn Sting Ray
not real practicle but pretty neat.

Cheers.

thanks for the input. I looked them up, they use switchcraft jacks, special conductor construction and shielding, better than when I was a kid. I got the black koil kord, and sounds great with no noise. I'm gonna try it at my next blues jam, where I normally play clean straight thru my blues Jr.

HAHA, I thought so, I recognize the Levittowner house. I used to be married to a girl from Levittown, She lived in the Plumbridge section. We still keep in touch.

Wow I have not seen them in ages and did not even know they were still around, but I can remember when everyone used them.
