I do agree with Fender needing something new and exciting....just don't touch the Strat or Tele......Gibson....quit malesting the Les Paul...it is beautiful in it's simplest form..Heritage Cherry burst Plus top with Gold hardware perfect..

Clever trick, to get some one over to Gibsons site I played one of Jimmy's after the gig last week and was again reminded the Les Paul is without question one of the most powerful and unique sounding electric guitars and in the right hands moves those mountains Jimi talked about. People talk, there are a lot of Les Pauls out there, the next Les Paul thread I see better have the right hands playin' otherwise don't bother.

They maybe should have tried that template out on an Epi first, just to see what kind of crowd it would attract before they went and tagged this one at $4000+...but its only my opinion.

How can you Dis something you never played? And with them only making a 1000 I doubt many will. I can't throw hate at anything because of who its made by.
Like I said the Zoot Suit is a nice playing guitar and the way its made and some of the colors a cool.
Now I do like the looks of this guitar and it my play great but I am not a fan of built in modeling like the Fenders flop know as the VG Stratocaster. Now thats just my opinion but it must be the same as many other as you see were VG is today.

So what exactly don't people like about the Gibby here. The pick guard the modeling aspect or that it looks like an LP or is it that its made by Gibson.

Free & Easy Down the Road I Go

Instead of investing all of that money in the research and development sector to come up with these "revolutionary" concepts, they should just make Les Paul, SGs, ES-335s and all the rest affordable and up to the quality standards Gibson was renowned for in the past. Please Gibson, stop trying to make the "smart" guitar that does everything perfectly, make a good old fashioned Les Paul and leave the perfect up to the player.

Yes, the zoot suit SGs were pretty cool. I like that new Tiger guitar. I am not in love with it ... but I think it's attractive.
