Wow, you're right. With the Dusk Tiger, SG Zoot Suit and Hendrix Experience Guitar, Gibson USA appears always to be on the lookout for new sharks to jump.

I think their new chief of design must be named Bud Tugly.

Its that hideous metal control plate and pickup surrounds. I could live without the fret inlays too. The guitars top is very nice, no matter how badly its priced.

What the hell is wrong with Gibson, do they really need me to draw some new designs for them?

I have never seen a company so out of touch with what their customer base wants..UGLY....Fender must sit back and love this....it looks like they had to throw some left over robot parts on there as well....

What a lovely piece of crockery that is.

The pickguard is completely cosmetic (people strum above strings, you know), and the inlays are just lame. I'm not a fan of the unusual colour the body has, either.

This isn't going to appeal to anyone.

If I wanted that much chrome I'd buy a 59 Caddy and the price, all for a guitar that tunes itself,Henry has become completely delusional For that money I could buy 2 or 3 real good guitars made for serious players. If Gibson keeps following this incomprehensible trend they will loose whatever little bit of respect and credibility they have left,of course this is going to be of great benefit to Fender and other companies that make guitars for serious musicians. It seems that Gibson is fixated in pandering to poseurs and dreamers.Time for Henry and others of his ilk to leave the ship before they scuttle it for good.

The Squier '51 is the ugliest thing EVER.

But the Dusk Tiger runs a pretty close second.

They are following Fenders example and hoping that more models on the market will equal more sales.

HOW ABOUT A PRICE CUT DUMMIES!!!!

What I find worrying about all of this is that Fender need Gibson. And I just cant see how Gibson can hope to be a future concern, when they start turning out duffers. Whats this now? The 3rd faliure that everyone can see not succeeding but them.

Guitar builders like every other business need direct competition to stop them making their heads dissapear up their own backpassage. Just like what happened to CBS in the 80's. I think Gibsons nose is well past their knees and heading for smellier climes. Lets hope someone gets a grip before they go too far.

At least Gibson seems to be heading in the right direction with their Epiphone line. Those puppies are a real value.

I am with you the Zoot Suit SG is a cool looking guitar and if you get a chance to play one you will like it even more!!!! A friend of mine has the Black and orange one and its sweet.
I guess you can't say Gibby is sitting back on there hands with technology or just selling a bazzilion different signature guitars for sales promos!!!! Thats what frustrates me is the signature crap thats one after another. Who cares what name is tied to a guitar it won't make you play the same or it don't mean its a better rig either.

This is the tiger signature guitar..... Roarrrrr....at dusk....WTF....you know if the price was better it probably wouldn't bother me so much, it seems like arrogance to me...either that or complete stupidity....$4100.00...I'm at work so I can't read the Gibson forum on this one but i bet they are having a good time with it.

I kind of like it but not $4000 much. All i can say is that Gibson is at least trying to add to their arsenal but they won't get too far only producing 1000 worldwide. Even though it's still nothing too different from what they already have. I know Fender has the custom shop but really they do need something new and exciting. There can only be so many modded Strats and Teles.
