"Oh Ten" - just like "Oh Nine". Technically there is still a 0 before the 10.

I think you are all wrong. It is pronounced two zero and one zero.

The ones I find myself doing different ways without quite being certain why are: 2009, 2008, 2007, etc. After all, it was Two Thousand And One: A Space Odyssey. And yet I often also say Twenty Oh Nine, and it sounds OK on my ear.

Odd.

BTW: if you're British then the other option you offered would have to be Two Thousand And Ten, not Two Thousand Ten. One of those tiny Brysonesque points...

Cheers - C

Mr William Bryson, you have put me in the mood Ceri.

Have to say Twentyten, or 0-ten.

By 2020, we'll definitely be saying "twenty-twenty" because it sounds so good. In fact, I predict we will retroactively be saying "twenty-oh-nine" to refer to the year we're now wrapping up. It's just these intervening teen years that are so bedeviling. 8)

Not that we really have to worry about anything beyond the end of the world in 2012. But then, is that twenty twelve or two thousand twelve?

Do you think the first century Christian prophets forsaw CB radio? Maybe even the Apostle John, he lived till a ripe old age so they say.

It would certainly explain all that 10-4 business.
