Any fans out there watch it? Amazing win for UK, and probably the best second round I've ever seen with Kimbo Slice and Houston Alexander.

Thoughts?

I have watched it since it's inception when the winner would have to fight three times in one night fora 50K winner take all prize but am not a die hard like I am with boxing. I guess that is because I used to box, grew up on it and was going to turn pro at one time.

I like how they cleaned it up and made weight classes and 3 five minute rounds which at least give the fighters some sought of protection as under the old rules it was just about a anything goes fight to the finish.

I enjoy it anytime I can catch it and here in the US the sport is really in it's infancy as it is still not legal in a lot of states like here in NY in which a show at the Garden would be a huge boost for the sport and the promoters know that it is just a matter of time as the last political vote just missed.

The one problem with the sport that I have seen is due to the many different styles of fighting it is really hard for a title holder to really make a string of succesful defenses to garner the popularity and become a household name on the level of a top boxer. With boxing in shambles and only a handful of really talented guys these days I feel that ultimate fighting can really become the #1 game in town as most of the young guys I know want to go in that direction instead of boxing. My nephew who is 22 now and who I can remember teaching how to box when he was young got involved with it about 5 years ago and I would ask him just what the hell are they doing that makes them tap out.lol Well after being exposed to wrist locks and arm bars and leg locks I know exactly why they tap.lol And now it was him teaching me technique.

If I was 20 again this is the direction I would deffinetly go as it is much more complex than boxing. I just hope these guys can make some big paydays as it is not a career of longevity but I am totally behind the sport.

I missed it. I'll have to catch it on the replay.

I'm not a fan but it is fun to watch from time to time. As long as Kimbo gets bloodied, beaten and humiliated for many years to come I will be happy.

As much as I hate Kimbo, and really hate to say it, but he looked somewhat decent. I mean at least when he was declared winner of the match he was still standing, unlike one of the ShowtimeXC/CBS fights where he was once declared the winner while lying on his back struggling to breathe while his opponent who was standing and barely winded, was declared the loser...
