I mentioned the Jag Bass on another post and on the bass forum but had no replies. Is anyone familiar with this bass? With it's slim neck and Jag electrics it seems like it would be well suited to guitar players making a transition to bass.

the bass player in the band i work with purchased on this past week, and i was really amazed!! He played through an aguliar head and 2 ashdown cabs and i was floored. It has the geddy lee neck on it to my understanding. I was just really impressed. He has been playing a j bass, and using a sadowsky on occasion, and i liked the jag bass better!

Good question? I have been thinking about the Chicago Music Exchange they may have one there, I'll let you know what its like unless you get acquainted with one first. :D

The Jag bass is 34” scale, in case that’s a negative switching from guitar to bass.

Maybe a shorter scale like the Fender Mustang might be worth testing.

Fewer controls than the Jag, for sure, but you might find you don’t need all those to find where you need to sit in a mix.

Don’t listen to anybody that suggests that the shorter scale neck means it’ll sound weak. The sound might be a bit different, but it’s punchy as any bass with huge sound.

Try it; people who do are pleasantly surprised. :)
