I got myself so hungry by looking at my post above that after I got my bagels, lox, and 2 giant black&whites, I went to DD and got 2 Boston Creams for myself and my son! It was good, especially with my espresso.

its DOUGHnut. what the hell is Do, besides the tonic and octave in the major scale?

true fact: the term "doughnut" was coined because the middles that got cut out (aka Munchkins in Dunkin Donut speak) look like nuts made of dough. simple enough, and explains the correct spelling. now you, as well as i, are probably wondering why that term got placed on the rest of the pastry, being the ring-shaped portion. that i can't answer, but i do know thats where the term came from.

Agreed.

I bristle at "X-mas" vs. Christmas. I also find it a bit ignorant to see, "thru" vs. through and, "gage" vs. gauge.
