An older friend of mine is selling off his collection because he no longer plays and needs the cash. I've got 9 of his vintage guitars and one of them is a 1978 Yamaha SG 2000. I'm not too familiar with this guitar and a potential buyer has asked me:

does this have the push down tone or volume pot coil taps ?

Does anyone know how I would determine this?

well two of the pots should be able to be pulled in and out, so you work out which ones they are, then you turn then to determine whether they are volume or tone.

Yamaha spec's just say 2 tone controls with (coil tap capabilities).

Thanks for the info. This must be a pretty popular guitar it has been on ebay for less than 24 hours and there are 71 people watching it.
