But i hate football, i hate rugby, not a big fan of jamesons nor glenfidich, i dont like marshalls, and unless i become a rockstar or something i'll never be able to afford a rolls royce nor a jaguar.

Also i dislike jammy dodgers.

Also the music scene in britain is pretty much underground hardcore and screamo and the popular music is mostly indie crap.

I actually like a few things american. Like fenders, parkers, some of the beers and the whisky, the attitudes and the musicians seem a little more cooler.

Mind you, i like alot of japanese stuff, like ibanez, the awesome tv and the other countless billion things that are awesome there.

Man have you ever paid for a European beer in the States?
There must be some things over here you like?
Irn Bru?
Crunchies?
Tunnocks Tea Cakes?
Vox?
Decent Television?
Anything?

Maybe the attitudes of musicians are just 5h1t where you live bro. Anywhere I've been in U.K. and Ireland rocks quite hard.

I love that both sides of the Atlantic have their differences, I love so much from the States but I love a lot of the stuff from the UK as well.

You cant beat watching Eastenders with a Cup O Tea and a G.V. Rolly Cigarette and some Toffee Pops on Christmas Eve....and then gettin wired on Buckfast!!

But the English have access to some of the best bands and concert venues in the world as evidenced in Mojo Mag. every month plus we are 9 mths. behind on Corry St.(Is it true Maggie(Blanche)died yesterday)we'll have to rely on Norris for the gossip now,and we're 2 1/2 yrs behind on Eastenders.I believe you can get JMI and Vox amps cheaper in England too can't you?Don't tell me you don't like Vox or JMI,I'll cry.

Im sorry but vox nor JMI never took my fancy.....

As for TV, english tv is pitiful. It really is, i cant stand soaps (I actually live near where eastenders is based and it really is that dull and wet) and as for all these reality tv shows, i cant stand them. I watch tv every now and a again but all i watch is Scrubs, burn notice, CSI, two and a half men and family guy.

All american shows!

Oh and ive never been to ireland =(

Well America has even more, even worse and even cheesier reality shows and even worse, even cheesier, absolutely awful soaps and more of them to boot.

I'd rather watch I'm a Celebrity and Eastenders than America's Greatest Model and General Hospital any day!

Count yourself lucky man. U.S. aint all roses. I couldn't even turn the T.V. on when I lived in NYC without wanting to take a gun to my head.

I lived in Bedfordshire for just over a year (93-94), and there's a lot I love about the UK:

Good Indian restaurants (How I miss the Shefford Tandoori!)
Döner kebabs
Transport cafes
Cream teas
Cadbury Wispa bars
Chip shops
The Black Swan (my local free house)
English Heritage and National Trust historical sites
The Harry Enfield Programme
The London theatre scene
The Cambridge Theatre Festival
The British Museum
The National Gallery
£1 coins
The London Underground
Walking around London, York, Bath, Salisbury, Lincoln, Cambridge, Canterbury, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Caerphilly
St. Andrews
Leicester Square
The Royal Observatory at Greenwich
Samuel French's Theatre Bookstore
Simulated alcoholic drinks in Soho
Double-ringing telephones
Trains
Roundabouts
and much, much more

Man, I need to get back to the UK...

Thats what I mean. When I am here I miss so much about the States and when I'm there I miss loads about home. It's a double edged sword!

Why can't we have the best of both worlds?
