If you're a Beatle fan there's a book that's the quintessential Beatle song book,it's a Hal Leonard book compiled by Rikky Rooksby,it has all the chord diagrams and the chords are THE correct ones except for Nowhere Man which they have in a D formation with a capo on the 2nd fret so I just transposed that one to an E chord like it's supposed to be but that's about the only discrepancy in the book.

For as simple as AC/DC songs seem to be you will see so many club bands butcher them. It is not as easy as one would think to pull them off and make them groove correctly. Would you agree. I see a lot of rhythm players get a bit baffled by those simple cowboy chords, because they dont leave space and that dead silence in there playing. But I totaly agree there are a bunch of great songs to get under your belt early on. Hells Bells. Back in Black, For those About to Rock man the list goes on.
too right man. People see rhythm as easy, but as they say, guitar is one o the easiest instruments to learn, but one the hardest to master. And that applies if ya lead or rhythm. The trick is to feel. Not listen. But feel. +1 to the beatles. A band that knew their chord progressions and their significance to the lyrics.

If you're into fingerpicking or want to learn it, look at John Prine's catalog of music. Most of them are simple chords like G/C/D/Em and use a capo to change keys. Good lyrics, pretty easy songs, good place to get started on playing fingerstyle.

Try Fish and Whistle, no capo, G/D/A, or capo on 2nd and G/C/D for Souvenirs. Those simple chords will get you through most of those songs.
