Here's the latest acquisition lads. An Epiphone Prophecy EX SG. Cool black quilt maple over a mahogany body, EMG 81 and 85 pickups, and nifty black pearl tops on the knobs. Now here's the best part . . . . are ya ready . . . $306 with the hardcase. Not a Fender I know, but still a rocking guitar.

Hi mthorn00: nice!! Congrats.

To me quilt maple means black burst. Accept no other!

And just to throw the cat amongst the pigeons - I have long thought the Epiphone headstock is a prettier shape than the Gibson one. And either are best with binding.

Savage pickups, BTW...

Cheers - C

Thanks to all for your kind words, yes I'm enjoying it alot. While it won't take the place of my Strat in my affections, it's tons of fun to play and sounds wicked. I've been doing Iommi riffs all morning (with the amp at "11"). :D

This is probably the second time I ask a really stupid question on the Forums... :roll: ... but what is does that GAS mean? :oops: :shock:
I am assuming it has nothing to do with propane :D

Again: NOT stupid.

GAS = Guitar Aquisition Syndrome.

We are all sufferers...

Oh yeah the Angus Young model would be nice to own, but it (and most other signature models by any manufacturer) are just too expensive.

I've always used GAS as an acronym for "Gear Acquisition Syndrome" that way it covers it all, Guitars, Amps, and Pedals.

Yep, the definition keeps expanding.

Personally, I'm up to Global Aquisition Syndrome.

I toyed with Galactic - but that just seemed greedy...
