What movies do you think make great use of existing music or have great soundtracks of their own?
I have to go with Forrest Gump. There's a lot of great music used in the movie including stuff from Hendrix, The Doors, The Byrds, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Segar, Three Dog Night, and many more.

That movie would be much better if you removed the flick and had only the soundtrack, it rocks. Just a damned awful movie, IMO.

Dazed and Confused has a smoking soundtrack and made good use of the music of the time.

The Dukes Of Hazzard soundtrack is pretty good, it's packed with great southern rock songs.

Black Hawk Down has a great soundtrack as well.

Far as original soundtracks are concerned I think it's hard to beat The Incredibles, in recent years anyhow.

in last time evey week a bond film was on tv so the theme is still in my ears.

Boogie Nights (assorted 70s groups)
The Breakfast Club (assorted 80s groups)
The Forbidden Zone (Oingo Boingo)
Flash Gordon, Highlander and Iron Eagle (Queen)
Roadhouse (Jeff Healey Band et al.)

And, of course, Amadeus 8)
