Go play one...I did and I got one on order, just put down $1060.00 she's in route! ! !

Do are google search on reviews...

Bottomline is, you have to decide what is you, and go for it.

All my favorites really didn't play exciting guitars by todays standards, or did they? lol

But yes, you do have to find something you like, so just go test drive one!

I played a chipped up one at Guitar Center, and just hope mine plays and sounds as nice...if it weren't for the deal I got, I'd have been tempted to get it even with the chip...a relic in the works!

I've got two Claptons. They are great guitars, but not typical sounding Strats. They have an active 25db midrange boost that can drive the front end of a tube amp into killer overdrive. They run a bit hotter than a normal Strat even without the boost dialed in. The best way to find out wether or not the guitar is for you is to find one and play it. If you like the tone then look for the right Clapton for you. It's all in YOUR ears.

I'd love to find an original EC model with the Lace Sensors at a reasonable price.

THe thing is most of the music stores that I have gone to don't have that high of a grade of guitar just sitting around, so there is no way to really try one out. That being said playing it would without a doutb be the best way to go and Haveing an awesome guitar like that wouldn't do anyone any good if they are unable to be able to use all that awesomeness to their advantage.
