I'm a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas music. I dont play these songs, but they are 2 of my favorites:

The Most Wonderful Time of The Year - Andy Williams

The Christmas Song - Nat King Cole

I always liked the guitar in "Jingle Bell Rock". Somewhere in my computer is a partially finished (like all my tunes) guitar instrumental version of "Silent Night".

You gotta be a west midlander to pen a good christmas song.

I bumped into Roy Wood in DFS (Sofa shop) in Tysley years ago. A jolly nice endearing and warm person. He wasn't dressed up daft at all and didnt have a multicoloured wig on.

I like them all too. At Studio Chicago's Christmas Party last year I walked from room to room wearing Love (my P-bass) and playing 'Deck The Halls' so that was my favorite last year, I wonder what it will be this year.

I love the Esquivel X-Mas album. Also good stuff on albums by Los Straitjackets, The Ventures, and Herb Alpert.

And what's Christmas without Keith Richards? (Run, Run, Rudolph)

Make it three in a row for loving them all. Also a great tool is to take the major(Ionian) scale and sit and pick out as many Christmas Carrol melodies as you can.

I used to have this great CD by Gary Hoey where he took a load of Christmas Carrols and made a shred album. Some he did dead shred, some like Blues Rock, some with wicked slide playing and a few acoustic. Really cool album. In fact he even did a volume two. If you can find it grab it.
