I dunno if this show by bbc has been syndicated round the world, or is it a common saying? Anyhow the premise is that anything you detest and would not care in the slightest if ya never had to experience again, into room 101 it goes. And it only goes in if your argument for disliking it is strong enough that others agree. I'm going for the most abundant operating system on the planet. Yes, it helped the spread of computers. And maybe cuz i have so much experience in fixing them, that is why people call me all the time when it goes $@!& up. But apart from xpee, they have given me personally so much grief, so many minor niggles, you would think with development teams the size they have they could sort it. But from what i know, that is actually their detriment. Gimme osx, and it's niggles any day. If only i could afford a macbook pro. Maybe soon

It comes from Nineteen Eighty Four........get yer Orwell out ya clown! lol

For me at the moment it would be My EHX Clone Nano for not being able to take a daisy chain and it's volume drop whilst in a chain. It is doing my head in and it EATS batteries!

Room 101 it goes.

But i'm not puttin it room 101 because it is still of worth. Then again mine ain't goin by same argument. Remember i using the premise stated above

I'm not sure people understand so I'll re-launch this thread bro.

Room 101 is the room in 1984 where the most evil things are. On BBC2 there is a show where celebrities come on and talk about the things they hate most in life and get an audience vote for them to be banished to room 101 never to be seen again.

Basically, tell us what you hate the most, it can be anything. What really annoys and irks you to the point your blood boils?

Oh yeah? I loathe Microsoft - but I loathe Apple more!

Every damn thing about them from their smugness over the curvy corners of their plastic boxes to the fact that their fatuously expensive phone doesn't even come with a user manual to the fact that I can't accomplish basic things with my iPod because I am no longer 14 years old and so don't have a school yard full of geeks to ask for advice.

And by the way, to all those superior iPhone owners out there who think they are a higher form of humanity: you just bought it, you didn't invent it. (I hated mine and gave it away...)

Into Room 101 goes Apple - and they can have their faces eaten off by rats too (check your copy of Nineteen Eighty-Four...)!

...And for those as haven't seen it, that's how this TV show binterz is talking about works. Ranty, isn't it? :)

Cheers - C

well bloody hell. I've enjoyed my Iphone for awhile now. Ok no ones got the number, so i dont get disturbed. Apple have missed the boat with the instruction manual and the whole Ipod/Iphone interface. The fact that you have to take a wire with you everywhere to charge it. And you have to search through incomplete online user manual, then a load of forums to suss out how to work it.
But it is a good system thats worth the effort.

Superior??? I've been told I'm living proof of devolution. My missus reckons I'm a throw back to cromagnon man.

Hahaha!!! That cheered me up!

While I still had an iPhone one of my brothers-in-law showed me how to load an app onto it that turned it into a spirit level. Fascinating. Amazing.

...What the f___ am I meant to do with that? I'm not bad at putting up shelves. And when I do it I use... a spirit level. Not a phone.

I just want to make a flippin' phonecall! I don't need a round of applause for what a fashion victim I am every time I take it out of my pocket.

Damn: now I need to go buy another just so's I can hurl it into Room 101!!!

(Calm down) - C

I'd be happy to hurl Barack Obama into Room 101 never to be heard from again.

And for anyone unhappy about this comment, let's keep it on topic, this is my opinion and I was answering the thread starters question honestly.

Good point Ceri! I remember using a cell phone that you actually could drive a nail with!! Remember the old "brick"?

I can't believe people will buy an app that looks like you're drinking a beer when you tip it up. Like you and the spirit level, why not just have a beer?

As far as room 101 goes - RAP MUSIC! All of it. Every crappy bit of it. Don't care how you abuse your drugs, your "hoes" or yourself - don't wanna hear about it. In to 101 with the whole sorry mess!!

Whew! That feels better!

The absolute best way I've found of putting shelves up is to make the missus do it. No joke. 3 year carpentry city in guilds, over twenty years experience. I come home from work one day and she's bought a venetian blind for the kitchen. Bought it oversized because she was unsure what size she needed. Took equal ammounts off either side of the slats and made a superb job of rounding them too. That afternoon she got into some 1/4" ply I had and made a pelmet for it too. I was stunned. Also she had put them up aswell. I thought hmmf ok, I'll pick the flies out of the fitting. Not a chance. I was expecting her to have gone to level, not a good idea on our old house. Nothing is level, its like the jokers cave in the old batman tv series. If she had done that they would have looked wrong. She measured up from the sophet of the window and from the work surface, either side of the window. Split the difference between the sophet/worksurface measurments each side. Marked a line centered between all 4 points and fitted the blinds then the pelmet. So now the blind looks right to the sophet when its up or open and right to the worksurface when its down.

Clever girl, my bird. I bought her a saw, level and set of marple chisels for her birthday.

here here

I'd like to toss Bill Gates (and whoever is his successor) into room 101 and give him nothing to eat or drink except a lifetime supply of unsalted crackers and pond scum for becoming a multi billionaire from holding the entire world hostage to his worthless buggy systems that he only gets around to partially fixing after he's got you convinced the next P.O.S. will be the one that makes it all worthwhile. There ought to be a law.
