I"m first generation American, both of my parents are British, I even have dual citizenship.

It's great that the US made it. I don't think they have a hope in heck of going all the way, but I'll be watching and cheering every match they are in.

Let's face it, any team can get lucky on any day and that day was the day for the US. We saw how they were dismantled in the final by Brasil after getting the early lead and getting overconfident.

Not a knock to anyone that supports the USMNT, just a knock against the team themselves and the delusional fans. Fans of the USMNT who keep it reasonable with their support and commentary are usually good people and knowledgeable Football fans.

And maybe one day to humor me, Peru will make the World Cup again and allow me to cheer for my #1 team!

You are correct I must admit I no nest to nothing about what we typically just call Soccer (not football) To American football is a different game all together. Here football is 60 minutes of combat, men hitting each other as hard as they can not allowing the ball to be moved down field. 5 different ways to score points. TD, Extra point, 2 point conversion , Field Goal, Drop Kick. Last one is rare !
Guys like offensive tackles 6'4" to 6'9" 300 to 360 pounds guards 290 to 330 D-End 260 to 300 ect.ect.Thats football.

Now when we want to watch guys that run back and forth on the field of play with a ball we turn to basketball  on the court.

nik,
My cousin from France once tried that line on me about his team. He said I couldn't hang because here us Yanks wear pads...long story short..they are girlie men...I liked it without pads...I like hitting people and it was fun to just put the shoulder down and watch them fall..:) as we say in the Army "pain is only weakness leaving the body"
