Hello Celtic Cyclonus,

I have found a few scattered across the Internet, but still not any one place that has a big selection.

One place I go to often will get you started is
http://12bar.de/forum/index.php

A thought - my experience has been that those offered free are actually better and more usable than those you find at sites that charge you for the BTs.
Also remember to check for any copyrights on the BT. Some seem to set a trap for the unsuspecting and have a copyright buried deep in the mp3 somewhere.

The site just above, in this post, has some that I have used with no problems associated to them. And some of the members have their own stash too.

For what it's worth - The BT King's material is copyrighted.

I confirmed that through emails with the person.

Just an FYI - Just so you'll know.

Agreed, and that's why there are hundreds of blues tunes on SoundClick, SongPlanet, Reverbnation and many other sites giving credit to journo/Mats for his great sounding backing tracks.
That's all he asks is that you give him credit when using and posting.

Here are some more :

I stumbled across this site a while back. It has a great selection of blues (and other genre) backing tracks:

Hi,

Mats Nermark here, also know to some as BT King. I got this nick some years back when I started posting my backing tracks at The Gear Page.

Now I see that some people here have found out about my humble efforts and that makes me happy.

I also see that there are some questions about copyright of my tracks. It is correct that they are copyrighted BUT I have no problems with anyone using my tracks for their personal enjoyment. Download all you want and play to your hearts content. If you record your own take and publish it somewhere, all I ask is that you publicly credit me as the composer of the BT. The reason for having my tunes copyrighted is that if anybody takes my tunes anywhere to make money off them, then I would like a piece of the action.

I hope everyone is cool with this and that you will keep visiting BT King. I have posted very little this year as I've had problems with my right hand. In the beginning of May I had extensive surgery and am now finally rid of the cast and have started doing rehab. The doctor said that playing is good rehab so yesterday I posted a newly produced track at BT King. Please check it out.

If there are any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Cheers,

Mats N

Thanks Mike. The hand seems to be doing OK according to the doctors. I have canceled all gigs for the rest of the year but I can still enjoy a few hours of playing and recording at home.

Cheers,

Mats N

Hi Mike,

Just confirmed my ticket to NAMM so I will do my own thing as well as do some stuff for Harmony-Central with Craig Anderton and Jon Chapelle. Hopefully that will be as much fun as last time.

Cheers,

Mats N
