In one of the other topics one of the forum members was showing his chops accompanied by a backing track. He had a laptop going, and I'll assume the amp was off screen.

How do you have your set up when your playing with backing tracks. Can you plug your laptop, mp3 or track source into your amp? Or run it through your your computer and play along?

I've gooled backing tracks so there's a ton out there.

Run my backing tracks thru Riffmaster Pro. I have a Klipsch speaker system with a subwoofer that really brings the computer alive...... http://www.klipsch.com/na-en/products/p ... -overview/ 8) Mike

Loads of different ways to do this.

I use Gearbox from Line6 it mixes your guitar with the backing tracks so its all played together and a great practice tool for me personally.

+1

Another way is - If you have a multi-track recording software - You can put the backing track in one track and record your lead to another track. While you are recording, the BT track will be playing, so that keeps you synced.

Still another is to use the same idea in the above paragraph with an external multi-track recorder.

There are probably many other ways too. Just pick which one works best for you - and have fun. :D

+1 but it's via a miced up Champ 600 and then to my stereo system which has 2 huge Acoustic Solution speakers, each with 2x8inch and 1x6inch drivers and tweeters. They sound great.

I plug my guitar/keyboard into a small pre-amp that goes through my Korg audio interface into my computer using Ableton Live 8.

The Korg unit models amps/cabs/mic positions/pickups and has a wide range of effects. (PX5D).
