Nirvana as a band was going nowhere until Dave Grohl joined, he's the one all yoiu Cobain lovers should be worshipping. Kurt was nothing and Nirvana was a lousy band (even after Daves creative input made them commercially viable).

This thread needs to R.I.P

Sayin RIP whiny suicide victim on the day of Freddie Mercury's anniversary just wasn't right.

Leave that sh1t til April or whenever he decided to do us all a favour.

Also saying he was the best guitarist ever or however it was put is downright shockin. Most of the people who post here are a thousand times better than that power chord tit.

Nirvana are, for the most part, for teenagers. JMO.

Wait til April. Have a tribute then. Just not on Freddie's day. Please.

I dont even know the hell freddie mercury was, so I'm sorry for his passing but do you see me complaining about the music he played?! Stop making a fool out of yourself.
Your just jelous, cause you cant make 4 power chords sound interesting can you?
Kurt was a great musician and songwritter and expressed his feelings. I bet you couldn't cope if you had his problems. I actually respect people who commit suicide, if everyday is hell for them.
And just to let you know I am a teenager, so that gives me a reason to like nirvana in your case.
You have no empathy what so ever do you?... heartless d1ck....

I was alive and well when he decided to kill himself. If you don't know who Freddie Mercury is then I am sorry for you.

Also I have been a pro since I was 16 before you rip apart my playing and my band had articles alongside Nirvana (members) as many guys here did. Plus I have shared the stage with my heroes on 3 different continents to be frank. Something it seems you can't do.....

Its fine if you like Nirvana, and like I said, its a teenage thing. You will grow out of it like everyone else does and I hope some day you will learn who Freddie was also.

The other day should have been Freddie's, in my opinion, as he did a lot more for music and it was his anniversary. Putting RIP Suicide Victim was in bad taste on the anniversary of a guy who would have been GRATEFUL to still be here.

Its a matter of opinion. Go and listen to the power chord 'king'. Like I said though. Leave his annversay to his, like Freddie's should have been Freddies.

I just hate the way when he was a grown man he got on like a snotty nosed teenager, never appreciated what he had, let his missus take junk with his baby daughter in the womb and then chickened out from being a good father while getting sad 'daddy doesn't love me' teenagers worshipping him and dumbing down guitar playing at the same time.

It's all opinion and love here kid, not war.

I hope to play along side some of my heroes too one day, but for now I've gotta get my techniques better.
I'm sorry I put this thread up on the aniversery of freddie, if I had of known I woud have put it up another day, but I didn't so just move on. And yes your right, it is a matter of opinion, other people have diffrent tastes for music. We've all gotta respect that, and not mock the artist's that we think were a waste of time. I like many other artist as well just to let you know, all kinds.

My favorite artist is Bob Dylan. Most of his songs are ridiculously easy to play and use simple chord progressions. Does that make him any less of a musician? No. I hate fluff in music. Every time I listen to a Van Halen song I gag a little. If you're going to solo, make it tasteful, don't just show off. It's boring.

I taught myself to play guitar learning Nirvana songs. Kurt wrote some really fun, catchy tunes. Very few other songwriters put as much passion into their music as he did. Listen to his music, you can just feel that he means every word he says. Good stuff.

Mental illness is real, and no one's fault. Maybe if you all knew someone who had committed suicide you wouldn't be so damn judgmental.

I stated before, Kurt was a great songwriter.

Great guitarist, no.

Great person/father, no.

Disrespectful on day of Freddie's anniversary to have a thread for someone who took his life, yes.

That is all.

And yes I have known plenty of people with mental illness.
The strength of their children is what gets them through it. This is closer to home than you may think.

I dont HATE Kurt Cobain, I just do NOT respect him and many here dont. We are all entitled to our own opinion. It just angers me to hell that some kid who doesn't know who Freddie is posts a tribute to Sir Moanalot on his anniversary. It was, again in my opinion, in bad taste.

And for the record I love Dylan, can't stand Van Halen and I like Unplugged in New York.

And I reserve the right to judge anyone who provides a women pregnant with his unborn daughter heroin.

EDIT:

Opinions are opinions and you do not need to say sorry, you are as entitled to yours as I am to mine.

Lets agree to disagree and start afresh and get workin on your techniques so you can get playin with your heroes.

I sometimes go overboard and I know that. Its a combination of Scottish/Irish/New York blood. To say that I am strongly opinionated is the understatement of the century. For that I am sorry but I stand by my views.

Disrespectful? Kurt didn't give himself his depression. Freddie contracted AIDS having (most likely unprotected) sex with have of England's male population. Please.

I love Freddie Mercury, but to say he was any less morally reprehensible than Kurt is ridiculous. They were both incredibly talented, but flawed, individuals.

How many times do I have to say, i did not know who freddie was before you mentioned him, so how am I supposed to know that I posted this thread on his aniversery day, before I even new him?
Kurt did not supply courtney with herion when she was pregnant, she was doing it secretly, kurt didn't know til she was born.

Like I said above guys, I stand by my views and you are as entitled to your views as I am mine.

Please don't presume what I have seen or who I know or what I know and the like. You don't know me but as a child during the Northern Ireland Troubles (look that sh1t up wiki style) I have seen sh1t that you would not believe.

Lets leave this thread as an agreement to disagree and lets get helpin each other so you may fulfill your dreams as I have mine.

Cheers,

CC

I never was a fan of this band. I think the true talent in the band was David Grohl, and no its not that I'm a big Foo Fighters fan. I just think his ability to step out from behind the drums into playing guitar, singing and becoming the front man says alot about him.
