I always figured that Nirvana and the grunge movement saved us from the hair bands and the worst period of music the world had ever seen. :D

I'm not even starting the p1ssing contest again.

I just thought it was terrible someone posting a tribute to guy who took his own life on the same day as Freddie Mercury's anniversary.

A TRULY talented man who was GRATEFUL to be alive.

Blowing his brains out was the best thing he ever did. No talent, whiney, hack.

I think Freddie Mercury was the best frontman ever. Nothing to do with Kurt's contributions or problems.

A whiney little sh*t who couldn't play guitar worth a damn and wasn't man enough to live. The best thing he did for the world was taking himself out of it. A useless, feeble waste of skin.

All of this fighting makes me sick.

Agree to disagree?

Every nirvana thread turns into this.

not sure why this was started today's date isn't close to start or finish dates for this talent, could he have known what some listeners thought about him and did that hasten his departure. (I just broke my own guideline.)

Agree! But it is a sad world we live in... People that like Nirvana are not allowed to express it for they are chastised. I don't know what it is. I was a real huge fan of theirs back in highschool and the same rule applies today; If you like Nirvana, you are depressed and don't know real music. I'm not sure why Nirvana left such distaste in people's mouths...

Was it that they stripped down music to the bear essentials? No, many bands before them played like this. I can say that I love the Pixies or that I love the Clash and no one would say how much they suck or how talentless they are.

I think most people's argument to hating Nirvana is that Kurt Cobain was talentless though. If I'm wrong, their next argument is that Kurt Cobain was selfish and killed himself and that's why they don't like Nirvana's music. Well take a look at how many other artists killed themselves in one way or another... the list is very very long!! But yet we all still honour those musicians/artists.

I'm still not sure why people hate Nirvana the way they do, especially when the OP said to take your complaints elsewhere.... the first poster opened up with "I don't like them" but no one was asking if you liked them... this was not a poll.

I get chills at the end of Where Did You Sleep Last Night from the unplugged concert.

Yes he was a junkie but so were many other musicians.

God, so true!!
All of these words in here are 100% correct, in my opinion.

And when did this forum become such a judgmental place? Isn't there enough in the real world, that we can try to keep our sacred forums clean from this crap?
Why are we all fighting over each other's personal tastes and opinions? Isn't that WHY they're called "personal"?!?!?

Jeez.

Some people love Nirvana, some people hate Nirvana.
It's the same with everything in life.
End of story.
No need to get in everyone's face about it and start ripping everyone to shreds just because of personal opinions.
